I did forget to mention that the Pilot Metropolitan does come with a squeeze (bladder) converter and a cartridge. The Pelikan only comes with a cartridge.

Yes, it took me quite awhile to purchase. I just added to my collection last August. No regrets. It’s a quality pen with cartridge and converter options.

wow only $20, so cheap here in Australia a Pilot Met costs us around $40 - $45 Australian.... I love the CM nibs, some can be a bit scratchy but I just love the way they write. Thanks for sharing this comparison with us Marcy

I couldn’t get a standard international converter to fit in the Jazz Elegance. I had to use one of those itty bitty Kaweco converters. I think the problem is the barrel is too narrow. My CM Metropolitan is horrendously scratchy. I have another one in a medium nib that has significant feedback. So I’m basically done with Pilot. The Pelikan, on the other hand, is super smooth and juicy. I have it loaded up with Visconti Red. It actually rode in my shirt pocket for the day! Thanks for the video.

I’ve yet to try a converter on the Pelikan as I am still experiencing the cartridge. I even considered a syringe fill for volume. I will surely update that experience. I noticed an audible feedback using the Pilot in my video. As expected, Japanese nibs are more fine than German nibs. Although widely known, I failed to mention that in my video. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with my new Pelikan Jazz Elegance and upon attempts to order in the black version, discovered it was out of stock. Although I’ve enjoyed the Metro, I haven’t considered purchasing in a new color. I never realized that until responding to your comment. Thank you for enticing that clarification.

@@MarcellHobbs you’re welcome! I have the white Jazz Elegance, too, but I love white pens. Probably wouldn’t get the black-a little too traditional for me-but I hope they come out with other colors.

The M Pelikan Jazz is more smooth. The nib on the Metro is a M flat, calligraphy nib that is not tipped.

@nilisblue10 You are quite welcome! I was able to order the Pelikan Jazz M with a black barrel from Amazon. They are nice, affordable fountain pens.
