If it was icing and the plane was slowing down gradually, an uncontrolled reduction in speed should have been noticed by both pilots, and an ice warning should have sounded. A lot doesn't make sense in this tragedy. I feel like whatever happened it was very sudden. Apparently there was no communication to ATC of anything wrong prior to the stall. Did severe icing happen very rapidly? Was there a severe sudden wind shear? Was it a sudden catastrophic mechanical malfunction? I wonder about the experience of the pilots as well. So many questions here. Prayers to all.

The wings are too narrow. This makes them very sensitive to disturbances such as icing. They are also too straight. This gives the plane no stability against yawning movements, hence the flat spin.

The plane was also old and icing on the wings may have contributed! We just did a video from the perspective of a passenger who had premonitions. So terrifying!

There are no black boxes on airplanes. There is a Cockpit Voice Recorder and a Flight Data Recorder, both orange.

Agree...but the legend account for a comment on early data recorders... When found, .they were always Black (smoke and dirt). the term Black Boxes is alive and well since then!!!
