@@SimPilotSky I'm from Brazil and it was here today that news was reported about the conversations obtained by the plane's black box. It was like this with a lot of screams, indicating that everyone was conscious until the plane fell to the ground. Data extracted from the black boxes indicated that the aircraft suffered a sudden loss of altitude. Upon noticing the crash, the co-pilot stated that it was necessary to "give power" to the aircraft, a measure to try to stabilize the plane. A minute later the impact with the ground occurred, and the recording ends with the sound of passengers' screams and a bang.

Hello, I'm a pilot in the Brazilian Air Force FAB. The Voepass plane that crashed in Vinhedo (SP) underwent maintenance after suffering damage 'structural damage' in March this year. The ATR-72-500 turboprop model had air conditioning problems, hydraulic system failure and abnormal contact with the runway. The problems began on March 11 of this year. Report showed that there was “abnormal contact” between the aircraft and the runway at the time of landing, on a trip from Recife to Salvador. According to the investigation teams, the “abnormal contact” was a collision between the plane's tail and the airport runway. According to what was reported in the company's maintenance system, the accident caused “structural damage” to the aircraft. The aircraft was parked in the capital of Bahia for 17 days, until March 28, and underwent repairs at the Voepass workshop. The plane whose prefix I cannot provide only returned to flight on July 9th, and had an alleged depressurization during the flight. That's all I can say at the moment.

A flat spin implies that the aircraft is tail heavy and the tail plane is completely stalled thus pitch control is no longer possible. In normal flight, a tail-heavy plane requires lift from the tail plane to maintain controlled flight. A lifting tail should operate at lower co-efficient of lift than the wings so that the wing will stall first when forward speeds are too low and the tail is still lifting to push the nose down to regain speed. However, if the de-icing boots on the tail plane not working properly allowing more ice accumulation on the tail than on the wings, such that the tail section becomes heavier due to ice accumulation and making the tail plane stalls before the wings, then a flat spin situation will occur. Perhaps the "abnormal contact" to the rear of the aircraft may have done some thing to impair the de-icing system of the tail plane, allowing more ice accumulation there to make the tail heavier and the tail plane more prone to stalling? Please note that it is impossible to put a transport plane into a flat spin when loaded normally, because the tail plane will always provide lift even when the wings have stalled in order to push the nose down. Thus, there is NO WAY that the flight sim would re-enact this type of flat spin. It is just not possible. Only when the tail becomes heavier due to ice accumulation, and the ice roughens the tail surface making it more prone to stalling that a flat spin would occur.

@@misterpercy5187 Context of the ATR Accident Voepass ATR Accident: The accident involving the ATR 72 operated by Voepass (formerly known as Passaredo) occurred in August 2020 when the aircraft veered off the runway during takeoff under adverse weather conditions. Weather Conditions: In Brazil, especially in certain regions, weather conditions can differ significantly from those in other countries. Factors such as high humidity, intense rainfall, and varying temperatures can impact aircraft operations. Flat Spin and Ice Accumulation Flat Spin: A flat spin is a situation where an aircraft spins with the tail stalled and control of pitch is lost. This phenomenon is more commonly associated with high-performance aircraft and is not typically encountered in normal operations of commercial aircraft. Ice Accumulation and De-icing Systems: Ice accumulation can affect an aircraft by reducing the efficiency of both the tailplane and the wings. De-icing systems, such as de-icing boots, are designed to prevent ice formation and ensure safe operation. Failures in these systems can lead to dangerous conditions, including tailplane stall. Climatic Differences and Aircraft Impact: In Brazil, tropical climate conditions may not typically result in significant ice formation compared to colder climates in other countries. However, adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain and wind can still have a significant impact on aircraft performance. Flight Simulators Simulators and Weather Conditions: Flight simulators have limitations in accurately replicating all weather conditions and specific scenarios. They may not precisely reproduce the effects of ice accumulation or other weather-specific variables that occur in real-life environments. Conclusion For the Voepass ATR accident, it is important to consider the specific weather conditions at the location, the integrity of the de-icing systems, and the aircraft's operation under those conditions. While a flat spin is a rare situation typically associated with specific performance aircraft, failures in de-icing systems and adverse weather conditions can contribute to critical events. If there are more specific details about the accident that need to be discussed or clarified, please provide further information.

Unless the design has changed. There is no “defroster”. There is an ice detecting system on the side of the forward fuselage. Pneumatic boots on the leading edge of the wings. The boots were redesigned after the Roselawn Indiana crash in the 90s. Severe icing was deemed the cause. But the CVR indicated the pilots weren’t even reacting to the ice detection alerts. Google AI answers: "No, a balanced plane should not enter a flat spin if the pilot has properly checked the aircraft's weight and balance before flight. A flat spin can occur if the plane is loaded incorrectly, or if the center of gravity (CG) is too far aft (toward the tail) of the aircraft. " "Luckily, modern aircraft are designed to resist getting into a flat spin. There's only one way it can happen-by loading the aircraft incorrectly. If the pilot has completed their weight and balance before the flight and ensured that the plane is loaded within its CG limits, entering a flat spin will not be possible." However, an aerobatic plane is flown taill-heavy in order to do snaps and flat spins, and can recover from flat spins because it has a big propeller up front to give a strong wind blast to the rudder and elevators to recover from flat spin. On planes without direct air blast over the rudder and elevators, recovering from a flat spin is nearly impossible.

@@marcg1686 -->>>>>>>>"For a plane to enter a flat spin it needs to be in a stalled condition first." Reply: Of course, that is so obvious, no disagreement here. The crew repeatedly ignored icing condition warnings, and ice accumulated on the tail planes, making the tail heavy and distorted air flow over the tail surfaces causing the tail planes to enter a stall for which the elevators and rudders are no longer effective for recovery. So the learning point here is get out of icing immediately, do NOT rely solely on the icing boots to fly extended time during icing condition. Icing condition is very DEADLY. By "wrong attitude", I suppose he meant that the real aircraft went into a flat spin with the fuselage and the nose in horizontal attitude, instead of a regular spin as depicted in this video with the nose pointing down. A flat spin implies that the aircraft is tail heavy and the tail plane is completely stalled thus pitch control is no longer possible. In normal flight, a tail-heavy plane requires lift from the tail plane to maintain controlled flight. A lifting tai should operate at lower co-efficient of lift than the wings so that the wing will stall first when forward speeds are too low and the tail is still lifting to push the nose down to regain speed. However, if the de-icing boots on the tail plane not working properly allowing more ice accumulation on the tail than on the wings, such that the tail section becomes heavier due to ice accumulation and making the tail plane stalls before the wings, then a flat spin situation will occur.

Só achei estranho no vídeo essa colisão com a caminhonete na decolagem. Isso não foi mencionado em nenhum momento nas investigações que por enquanto ainda são preliminares. E a caixa preta não foi divulgada. Portanto esse som de gritos. Não existe.
