For those of you thinking of joining the aviation industry this will give you an idea as to what you can make once you reach the regionals. This is by far not the highest pay out there. The major airlines way considerably more. If you live in the USA the dollar is stronger and you already start out with more.

this was my dream job when i was younger. it was the cost of school and training that held me back. i couldn't afford it, sadly. i think this is the case for most young people despite scholarships being available.

That’s true it is super expensive to be a pilot. I personally saved up money for a few years then went to flight school. So it is possible. All the best.

Please note that your per diem amount is meant to cover meals while on the road, and should not be counted as an income. Also, you did not include the whole story; duty hours and days worked a month.

Hi there, at this current time in 2020 during the COVID-19 all the flying schools are closed and the pilot jobs are cut by 90%. The best thing to do is to study during this time and learn as much as possible about aviation subjects. That way when the industry improves in about 2 years you will be able to excel through all your training. Thank you!

The advise I would give has changed now due to the pandemic. If you're starting out and say it will take you 3 years to complete your training. Then you will be in line after all the experienced pilots get back to work. Unfortunately it is that way for now. But after 5 years if the economy is good you'll get your chance to fly.

I started flying at age 17. But, then I stopped flying for a few years. Finally when I finished training was at age 22.

I don’t fully understand your question Yuvraj. Are you asking me if it’s ok to become a pilot at age 22? The answer is of course. Don’t worry about COVID, worry about your future dreams.

Yes but not as much as flying. Ona layover a pilot gets per-diems which is a good allowance.

For that reason some pilots don’t like long layovers do they can make more money actually flying. Other pilots like myself enjoy long layovers to explore.

Hi Keith i follow your posts regularly on Instagram. I have a really carrier(mine) deciding question for you please… I’m going to start my ground school in July from WWFC in Kitchener-Waterloo. I have no money saved right now, I don’t have any financial support from anyone, but i really want to be a pilot. It is going to cost around $100k-$120k including PPL, CPL and all the rating till i go for instructor license eventually. Can you help me in getting to know to truth( harsh or sweet) should i think of being a pilot ? Right now my earning is in between (50k-60k) year. I’m 28

It is expensive. After your training it is also tough to find your first job.

Great question. I'll make a future video about that. But, for now I'll answer your questions. Yes, USA carrier such as the big airlines only pay 2-3 times more than Canadian carriers.

It depends where you live in Canada. The tax is different in every province. I'm not a pension expert. My expertise is in flight training. So, if you want to know how much money you'll earn at the airlines during your career message me.

Is it possible for a pilot to earn 40k a month?

Yes at a USA legacy carrier a senior Captain makes $380/ hr. That comes out to 30k a month. If you do overtime then definitely much more. But keep in mind that’s not the norm. This is just the rare few % that make that. Don't count on it instead have realistic expectation of making $10k a month as a Captain. That's still a good earning for most people.

Basically half that of captain's. So if he made $10,350 that month, as a first officer he would have made roughly $5175. This is an estimate because there is a large pay scale for both captains and first officers.
