I love my VPs. I refill a cartridge with a syringe, Waterman intense Black works really well.

I do love the design of the VP/Capless range, but I'm fairly sure that my awkward LH modified tripod grip would put my index finger in conflict with the clip. Now, if they made a clipless version with a rollstop, à la Majohn A1, I'd be very grateful to them (though my wallet wouldn't...)

I don’t really get the absolute hate people get to the CON-40. Is by no means a good converter and a pain to clean, but, a full fill? For what? It just gets messy when fully full. And you get enough ink to last for a day or two. Re-ink the pen. Two minutes tops, and that is for screwing and unscrewing the pen and the bottle lid, and a couple of twists. Not the end of the world. This is a great pen for practical uses, like taking notes, and that writes wonderfully on top of that when using the right flowy and saturated inks that are actually made for writing, like any pilot ink, and not swatching and drawing (not the dry shimmery, sheeny, or paler inks a lot of people like). If I’m gonna write a book I would pretty much better have a huge eyedropper or bulk filler for it.

Exactly! This is the one pen where I don't want a full converter fill as unthreading the body will advance the piston a bit causing a mess when it's fully filled.

I love this pen. I have 2 of them. And I did find a way to get a full fill but there are a lot of steps to it. I dislike the con40 as well.
