Today's video is the 3rd part of the Pilot Simulator Preparation video series.
In the first video, I performed a Raw Data departure, I talked about QDM, QDR, Aircraft quadrants, and holdings.
The second video was about Arc DME and ILS Approach, all the procedures have been flown in raw data with no autopilot.
In this video, I fly a VOR approach in raw data using the Autopilot on Heading Select mode.
You are going to have the chance to learn how to brief and get ready for a VOR procedure quickly and efficiently, taking into account the important points of the procedure.
When preparing for a Non-precision approach it is important to think about your Final Approach Course, the Terrain, and keep very good situational awareness.
Knowing where you are at all times during a non-precision approach is crucial, especially at night or when the visibility is low. This is so because you are using ''less precise'' ground station and aircraft equipment to position yourself for landing.
Make sure you are established on the radial inbound before starting the final descend.
Once you have the PAPI insight you can disregard the Altitude checks and follow the PAPIs indications.

Many thanks for your informative Videos, helping me out so much! Just a question. Is it possible to use the course feature to intercept the holds and outbound course for the approach. Making it easier?

Thank you for all your knowledge and tips, I already know how to fly IFR but your videos really showed me how to actually interact with a Boeing cockpit , I’ll have my job interview/simulator next week on a 767 (a big jump coming from only flying 150’s😅)

Great content, really. I’m not a real pilot, just a simmer but your videos make VOR approach a relatively simple task. Thanks a lot! Btw. (due to your other videos) Sardegna is one of the best places I’ve been to IRL :-)

@@PILOTCLIMB damn seriously. Pegasus invited me for type rating class. I have been using your expertise thanks Gabriel. Your videos and website helped me pass Sim assessment for 3 companies Pegasus, Turkish airlines and SunExpress. Each were different I found ways to use the knowledge for every single one. I'll write this comment below other videos. What a relief. After 6 years.

Great job! thanks for all 3 parts of sim prep videos! i have one question regarding tracks while flying manually during sim assessment. so in order to keep the track, we should be keeping correct heading according to wind. do we have to mentally calculate the wind correction angles/headings (and apply them, for example, in holding pattern tracks)? or can it be approximate correction?
@PILOTCLIMB
@PILOTCLIMB 10 ай бұрын
It depends on the model you are going to fly, most os the moder Jets have the track information in the Navigation Display. Check if the Aircraft type you are going to use has it. If not, you need to take the wind into cosideration in order to fly accurately. If you find yourself in troubles ask for radar vectors ;)

Thank you, Captain! Do you always need to join HP first before performing 263 heading? Can you just fly heading 345 and then immediately turn left with heading 263?

Hello captain , i woulf like to ask you a question In the 737 FCTM in the general chapter it said thay at v2 + 15 you have the full maneuver capability which is (25+15 overshoot ) alright then in the takeoff chapter under ( immediate turn after takeoff ) he said that the maximum bank angle at v2+15 is 30 degrees ! Then why it doesnt provide me with 40 degrees of bank as the general chapter said Thanks in advance
@PILOTCLIMB
@PILOTCLIMB 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching!! Could you elaborate a bit more regarding the 40 degrees Bank?? Is it a limitation you read in the FCOM??
