Hi Captain, great channel! I have a question: Does always the amber altitude landing symbol match with the field elevation? Thanks.
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support!! That indication will show you the Airport elevation of your FMC destination, OR, the departure Airport elevation if you haven't reached half of the flight or 400nm and you decide to turn back.

I finally got the grasp of how to choose the waypoints in the FMS. Just a little question, in real life you absolutely keep VECTORS in the waypoint list right? In the sim, if you keep it, you'll be given a huge 690nm or farther vectoring without ever being contacted by the ATC, so you have to get rid of all VECTORS as well as DISCONTINUITY (lousy standard ATC system in XPlane 11).

I'm glad you are getting better on undestanding the FMC logics. Yes in real life we keep the vectors in there, and once we recive the vectors from the ATC we fly the plane using Headings or we update the FMC if we receive a direct to a waypoint!

@@PILOTCLIMB great to know thanks. I finally got the gist of SID and STARS from charts, but I still need to know how to connect the last departure waypoint to the first destination approach waypoint. I need to learn to connect things in between to have a nice and smooth leg base, as well as time to get all climbing procedures done so that I can manage the autopilot.

Watched this third and final part of the full flight (Wish there were more 🤣) I really enjoyed it. The fun part is that I only have one technical question, nothing else. At 3.35 you selected a lower altitude on the MCP. Now, as far as I can remember, when you select and altitude that is at least 100 ft higher or lower than the current altitude the V/S mode should be engaged automatically, is it correct? However I can't see the V/S light coming up when you change the Altitude there. As always great work captain, I hope you're doing great and I look forward to watching other full flight like this, I loved it. See you on the next video. Edit: I just found out that it only works like this when you're in ALT HOLD mode. I answered my question by myself 😂, thanks anyways Cap ☺.

That's great!! When you find the answers to your questions is when you learn the most!! I have done another full flight video during an IVAO event: Part 1: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5TRhaesor2qbKM Part 2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKumgpR9l7qci7s Part 3: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZa6c32taLJ1q9U Part 4: kzbin.info/www/bejne/enzCpYNtfN6ibdU

Nice video Capt, why i see the flight path vector always in level with pitch angle roughly on horizont but we still can captured the 3 degree Glideslope? Is it because this on simulator different as in real B738 plane Capt?
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
Hey, Many thanks for watching and for the comment. In the video the FPV was off, if you captured and follow a glideslope of a 3 degrees your FPV should be -3 degrees and your pitch angle depends on the flap configuration and the approach speed. Let me know if I answered your question!

@@PILOTCLIMB Thanks Capt i get it but i still have one question... Is there any button on MCP which we can switch on/off the FPV flight path vector during approach?... Thanks

Hello I have a question ...if you set in descent forecast page QNH 1035 and you are coming to FL 70 which is transition and set 1035 from STD according to VNAV path indicator you should be on profile? Because in your video the path change and were 1000 above is it a PMDG problem or it works in this way in real life ? Please can you make a detalied video about exact meaning of function of descent forecat page beacause there is a lot of missunderstanding in KZbin vidoeos and for example FMC cockpit companion which I red. Also there is a lack of information in FCOM and VNAV is very important for RNP app. Thanks :) have a great day..
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
Hey, many thanks for watching!! THe FMC should have used TL70 as Transition Level, (I just realized I actually called the Transition Level Transition Altitude in the video, My bad :)), so that when you set the QNH the path should not change, however this is not what happened in the video. If you don't set the TL and the QNH you could have this problem. That was a bit strange and I don't know what caused it to be honest. I'm working on a training video where I explain in deep how VNAV works and how you can use it! RNP approaches are on the lit also. Let me know if you still have any questions

@@PILOTCLIMB that would be graet as there are many confusions abour RNP app how to fly it, what equipment you need an so on.. many companies now are equiping their 737 with GLS system so looking for next video :)
