Just a question: Do the pilots enjoy the addition of the HUD?
@upner41693 жыл бұрын
it sucks....only worth for low vis take offs and landings.
@tymark13 жыл бұрын
Idk. My dad just retired. He liked them. My brother flies in the navy, he obviously loves his HUD. I think it’s just good because it gives the most pertinent info to the pilots during critical phases of flight while they can still look outside and not look around the cockpit scanning different instruments.

Intetesting body language by this crew. The Captain ( left seat) totally calm. The F/O ( right seat) was very nervous and seemed to calm into flying. The gear was intetesting. The first noise after take off was the nose gear spinning. Then about a minute later it stops, but gear still down. It's quiter. Flaps up repeated twice. Another minute later captain instructs gear up. Drag eliminated. Crew ask for ATC instruction repeat. So they could be slightly distracted with office, to not be 💯 concentrating on accent ATC instructions. Love JP videos to get repeat from various cameras!! Kudos JP.

Why aren't there official cameras in the cockpits of commercial airliners? Train cabs have cameras and buses and cruise ship bridges have them. Cameras are in almost every place. And the footage is beamed to an offsite location. For example in the crash of the Pakistani Airlines investigators can only speculate why the pilots decided to go around after knowing that the first attempt resulted in damage to the engines.With a video of what was going on it would be obvious what made them decide to do what they did.

This AC had one wheel brake system inoperative and deactivated. According to MEL the gear must remain down for two minutes after take off to allow the spinning wheels to come to a stop naturally since there is no automatic brake activation to stop wheel spinning after take off

Thanks. I don't live in the USA but thought (although it was many years ago circa 2002) I got to Oakland crossing the Golden Gate Bridge or was it the other bridge lower down? I didn't stop in Oakland as the area looked rather unsafe. I crossed the Golden Gate Bridge possibly on the way back as I wanted to see the National Guard gun emplacements as a result of 9/11. What’s the reason for not retracting the LDG gear until 2 minutes after Takeoff?
@nikobelic42514 жыл бұрын
Jayesh Sisodiya if the brakes are too hot the landing gear will be retracted latee
@mikeL51834 жыл бұрын
Some other replies are indicating there was a portion of the brake system inoperative, preventing the automatic application of all brakes to stop the wheels from spinning during gear retraction. The delay was to allow the wheels to slow down before being stowed.
@tomstravels5204 жыл бұрын
Niko Belic more likely a partial brake failure. It it was brake temperature then it would be temperature restricted, not time restricted
@jayeshsisodiya87634 жыл бұрын
@@tomstravels520 yeah that makes sense. But then in that case why would it be preferred to fly rather than sending the airplane for maintenance and getting it fixed. A partial problem could lead to something worse later..quite a possibility!
@tomstravels5204 жыл бұрын
Jayesh Sisodiya planes have redundancy. There’s a backup set of normal brakes available and then go into the ALT braking systems and parking brake which operate independently and there are probably no mechanics in Oakland or nearby for Norwegian. If the minimum equipment list says the aircraft can take off with part of the braking system failed then that’s what Boeing have decided

A couple comments posted before yours have replies indicating this was because there was some brake system inoperative. Because not all the wheels could be stopped with automatic brake activation (because the brakes on those wheels didn't work properly) they had to delay the gear up to allow the wheels to stop spinning.

Long haul flights have to carry two crews, or at least a third pilot, to account for duty time restrictions. Sometimes those extra pilots might be captains, sometimes in these videos I've seen senior first officers (possibly the rank of the right seat pilot here as the 4th stripe is not full width) in the left seat while the captain rests.
