Piloting the ARTIFACTS | Taking Names

We have a Premier Draft that we are going to start with, then probably finish off with a Quick Draft of WOE in order to grind out as many Gems as we can. We currently have arount 1600 Gems, but we need to build this up to 4K in order to get the Anthology.

I’ve got a question for you. If you were to use this strategy in explorer instead would still choose UW artifacts or something different? What if you were to add in the additional constraint that the deck be affordable in pioneer at first and not complete pointless to play? Too big of an ask?

Honestly... continuing to keep budget in mind, I wpuld go with uw fearies. It is relatively budget and you can start with mono blue and do pretty well. The caviot is that you have to like control.

Is removal of stronger creatures just a no go for this deck? Counters are great if you have them in hand, but how do you deal with a 4 mana creature that's already been cast?

Also, there is a lot of flying to get over the top and usually if you kill their ramp with portable hole, you outpace them pretty hard.

@@coffeestout I got shutdown by a 4/5 angel. I think part of my problem is I don't have some of the more important pieces built yet, like ensoul artifact.

@@DavidBaker42 Yeah, the general strategy against bigger creatures that can block your flyers is either going bigger than them with ensoul/Michiko's/glitters, or go wider than them with retrofitter and making a ton of tokens. You definitely need your buffs for this deck to work
