Awesome flight bag setup. Another thing I carry is a Sporty SP400 as I can get clearance and get weather info prior to startup. And I also carry a Garmin InReach in case of emergency I can SOS if needed and family can see in my location as well as send text messages.

Great video! I am hoping for more videos! Maybe go over a topic that was the most challenging for you to learn.... like comm calls, landing.... I am just taking a glance into aviation as a career and I am glad I picked up your channel. Thanks again for posting these videos!

I love watching your journey man. I have a wife and kids and am 36 years old. I am about to make the leap and do the ATP accelerated commercial pilot program. I am very nervous about the cost and my ability to actually complete the course. Watching your videos makes me feel better. Keep knocking them out man. Do you have any advise for someone starting out?
@Trek2Greatness6 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Im glad to see other folks who are committed to their families jumping in there! As you know, its a great time to become a pilot. It is quite a leap. My advice is to have everything planned out as much as possible in terms of how to manage the family time and study/flight time. Figure out if the flying will likely come most natural or if the studying will come most natural, and focus extra time on whichever you might be weakest on. For me it was a little bit of both, so I have to give both extra time and attention. You got this, man! You can do it!

PilotCrissy Thanks Crissy! Yes, I’m glad ATP makes it easy to have most all of what we need included in the big box that arrives at your doorstep! Linnea says “hello”.

Awesome video!! I have the bad elf Bluetooth gps, handheld radio, 2 Tylenol pills, a barf bad for passengers which also can be used Incase of hyperventilation, and carbon monoxide detector. After my commercial I will be buying the oxygen detector and garmin gps that you can use for emergencies it also can be used for texting.

Thanks Beth! Yes indeed, all great stuff! I will be looking to carry passengers at some point soon and will want to have a sick bag and Tylenol on hand as well. All great suggestions, here! Thanks again for adding to the list of items for aviators to consider!

Awesome video! I was wondering what’s the name of kneeboard you using
@dominickvanveen59236 жыл бұрын
Sorry just realized that you had it listed in the description. Did you buy your own clipboard for the kneeboard or did it come with it as an extra option
@Trek2Greatness6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! No problem. The kneeboard came with the clip. It is a very strong clip, but I actually used double sided tape to stick my checklists to the kneeboard.

Hey Mike, great vid. I've been trying to decide between the Capt and the Crosswind bag. You sold me on this bag, and a few other great ideas as I start out in training. If you don't mind though, could you please tell me how you rate the Sporty's Stealth Headset??
@Trek2Greatness6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The headset it pretty good and it is priced right.

verveblack it is for simulated instrument conditions. You will be able to see the dashboard but nothing outside of the airplane.

I also have Flight Gear HP Crosswind Bag. Unfortunately, it's still small to put in the binder. My concern is can the Flight Gear Captain Bag carry binder?
@Trek2Greatness6 жыл бұрын
Khai Do If I had to choose again, I might have gone with the Crosswind bag. Captain bag will not fit in the two seater plane that I often fly now. But yes, a binder will fit in it.

@Trek2Greatness6 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Eek! I know you have already started ATP by now. I hope you didnt worry too much about memorizing beyond the required materials. I think the Kings School stuff is more supplemental material to add on like a cherry on top. Best wishes!

I have watch tons of your videos, they are really helpful! I’m currently in the Air Force about to get out and start Pilot school; ATP seems to be my number 1 choice so far. However, I have a question.. how do you off set your daily bills? (Rent, insurance, phone, has, etc)
@Trek2Greatness6 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicolas! Glad to hear that my videos have been helpful! I would say that ATP is a great choice. Shop around and see how the price compares to other flight schools, keeping in mind the time it will likely take is likely going to be longer other places. You might find like I did, that ATP is a good choice for someone who wont be working while in flight school. For our family, it was all about selling stuff and reducing our bills as much as possible. My wife works, so this of course helps out a lot. I hope to cover this more in a future video. Thanks for watching. Best wishes and thanks for your service in the Air Force!
