Airlines and regulations require a checklist be used for a reason. Clearly these 2 pilots didn't not follow the checklist, and completely ignored the 3 green landing lights on the annunciator planal being on the entire flight. Attention to detail is a must attribute for all airline pilots to have.

Unfortunately, "gear up" is not an item in the after takeoff checklist. Atleast, as much as I know. It's weird but it is what it is. Checklists most of the times are different in different airlines. But still has the items made mandatory by the manufacturer and the control authorities, such as FAA, DGCA etc. Gear is very important. So important that you have to do it even if it is not mentioned in the checklist.

@@javkhlanbaatarkhuu4271 yes but not everything can be in a checklist and despite that they are 2 human pilots not robots. They are very very many things that should’ve drawn their attention to troubleshoot which then should have highlighted when they’re doing a panel scan. Why are there three greens instead of three reds where the gear lights are? why will the aircraft not accelerate past 230 kn? Why is the fuel use so high? Why is it very noisy? Why is the rate of climb so slow? All of those things and more should have been a trigger so anybody can make a mistake to forget the gear but to me it’s unforgivable not to troubleshoot when there is a very obvious problem with the aircraft performance.

These two female 'pilots' severe inability to trouble shoot what was happening on the flight deck and with the plane, explains why there was ZERO awareness that the landing gear was down throughout the entire flight until they were forced to divert to another airport. What's weird is that the Airbus normally has a ton of safety alarm warnings that the computers detect. You'd think they'd have a "gear extended" warning once the planes gets above 10,000 feet or so. But apparently they didn't think of that. And traditionally, when the callout for 'positive rate' is called out, they are supposed to also say, 'gear up' and do just that!! But in the UK they say 'undercarriage up' because the British always have to have different names for things.

This video reminds me of an incident that happened to me about 30 years ago. I found an inexpensive flight from San Francisco to London on a charter. What this means is some company sold tickets and then contracted with an airline to provide teh airplane. A few weeks before the flight I found that an Indian Airline would be used. I was curious so I looked up the safety record. Unlike other airlines which publish their saftely record, I found that at that time India did not publish these records because they were so bad. They were considered one of the most dangerous airlines to fly with. I hanged my flight.

I can't believe that nowadays with all of the available technology this kind of events could happen. And how come airlines have no central information center to receive information from planes (like more in depth) and be able to message the pilots if some issue was not been taken care of.. It's like all those computers, sensors and communication equipment serves almost no purpose.

Humans usually procrastinate, get distracted, etc. While computers rarely fail in planes. There is so much potential to avoid human error. And still.. haha :-b

Rookie mistake. In my little single engine piston retract, if I EVER hear myself saying something like; "The plane isn't climbing very well today" or "We aren't getting very good speed", it is ALWAYS time to do a quick check of everything and discretely fix it.

You would think alarm bells should have been going off after the plane would not go higher than 24,000 feet. It seems to me that the pilots must have been high or on something to miss this mistake for the whole entire flight until the landing.

Motorcycles have a safety in place,so if kickstand is left down the bike will stall. An extended kickstand can cause an accident on the first corner. Airlines with hundreds of million dollars in aviation investment did not install a warning light,or buzzer? Repetition & complacency are the major factor in disasters.

Sounds like a bunch of errors. Complacency so they probably were not following an official checklist after takeoff You would think that, when they realized that the ascent rate was less than normal, there should be an immediate checklist that would have included the status of the landing gear. They were already on autopilot so they certainly had the time to do those checks. The only two smart things that they did were to divert when it became obvious that fuel was going to be an issue and when they realized that the gear was still down during approach they kept focus on a safe landing. I’m surprised that the onboard systems wouldn’t have raised an alarm for this. That’s a 2015 AirBus which should have relatively advanced computers that are monitoring status for issues. Gear down above a threshold altitude or above a certain airspeed should be cause for an audible and visual alarm.

I've never flown much, and certainly have never achieved a pilot's license, but whenever Im driving, in either my car or truck, I do pay close attention to the instruments on the dashboard. Don't these airliners have indicators telling pilots such information? If so, these pilots obviously pay no attention to the instruments on board

The "flaps up" after the "positive rate" call was bad enough, but the PM actually raising the flaps in a low altitude, low airspeed nose high attitude takes the cake! Then failing to do an after takeoff checklist...WOW! That's it...just WOW!

That could cause a crash directly aircraft are not meant to fly at high-speed with gear down. It could cause some form of structural failure, but certainly could run out of fuel and it could cause controllability issues Had They run into bad weather and exceeded the safe speed.

One more reason to not got to India, never fly Air India, and more. Incredible lack of training, experience, aptitude for pilot skills, and finally, situational awareness to never question the reduced performance of the A/C or do a fuel remaining check at a much earlier time. I am a former US Navy pilot and flight instructor. I have a strong sense that these two should never been accepted for pilot training for an airline.

Why'd you specifically mention their gender at the start? I haven't seen you do this with all male flight crews. Are all-male flight crews also implicitly to blame because of their maleness (e.g. Delta 1141, all-male flight crew talking inappropriately about the dating habits of the female flight attendants?) or are we just blaming the women? Check your biases, please!
