I enjoyed this quite a bit, although when they mentioned turbulence ahead my stomach started tightening in sympathy for the passengers because I do not like (in any way) sudden drops during flying. The camera coverage in this video is quite impressive. I can't imagine how difficult it was [legally] to get an international commercial airport to okay the use of camera drones within restricted airspace! (The one overhead shot of the nose of the plane as it's taxiing onto the runway was spectacular.) The synchronization of all ground-, aircraft- and tower-based cameras onto to the exact same flight was also quite a challenging treat. My compliments go out to the video editing and on-site production staff for making it look so seamless.

The "skill" is in having enough flight experience to know exactly how to fly something like this; driving a articulated lorry appears simple because they move slowly, but it really isn't. You need experience. "Skill" is necessary when things go bad, correct. That's when a true pilot will be able to recover and safely land a plane that's still able to land, or at the very least try and reduce casualties if it's impossible.

see pilot comment on wasp at 7:50 This is wasp 49P to home base I've latched on to the big bug and am in the process of bringing him home now. Current speed 1 mph will contact you again when I reach max cruising speed of 7 mph. over. This is wasp 49 papa declaring an emergency. My attachment prods are stuck and the big bug is accelerating quickly. We have passed my normal cruising speed of 7 mph and fast approaching my maximum structural integrity speed of 23 mph. I'm hoping this bug has a top speed less than 23. over This is wasp 49 papa to base, (say again 49 papa you are breaking up). You're telling me, I'm at 23 mph and the G forces have pulled off my left wing. This dang bug appears to be attempting to take flight. I don't know how much longer I can take this. Tell the wife and little stingers I love them. over.

I remember seeing these beautiful birds at San Francisco all the time, back in the day. It's a shame they've been retired.

It's overwhelming to think of the expertise and the precision that goes into designing and building these behemoths from the ground up. Truly impressive. And these pilots should be paid handsomely given the awesome responsibility of 500+ lives in their hands not to mention the cost of the plane itself.

One of my favourite cockpit videos right here. I love to travel with Lufthansa, every time I fly it's a real comfortable and professional experience. Thanks for the upload.
