Adam!! Solid video. Thank you so much for reviewing our products. Those ribs looked killer 😎 Regarding the missing ‘tine’ - We are the only company that embeds their expanded steel (portion of the grate you cook on) into the actual frame. We do this so there are no sharp edges on the expanded steel that can cut/poke the user AND the racks are reversible so you can flip them over if you want the frame to be raised around the border. For strength, we don’t cut the entirety of the frame, so sometimes a tine will need to be removed so the expanded steel will slide into the frame. We will do a better job of getting the occasional tine closer to the frame. Thanks again Adam and great job!

Only thing I don’t like about this system is that it gave you the ability to make 12 racks of ribs and I didn’t get a call to enjoy any of em! Lol another awesome video. Keep it up!

Thanks for posting this video review. However, I am concerned about dripping juices all over the patio deck since that is where my Trager sits. Looks like a lot of additional preparation and cleanup afterewards. My cooker has a shelf like yours and stuff will drip on it when you pull the rack out. Might have to think about this more before making a decision. I noticed you didn't mention anything about it.
@BBBarbecueandPits Жыл бұрын
So they actually make a drip tray that goes in the front of the grill. It catches any drippings that would fall between the shelf and grill. As far as the front shelf, you could put aluminum foil on it so clean up is easy. I will agree that’s the only thing I don’t like as well but having the grill mat pulled to the front prevent any thing getting on the deck works. Still worth it for the extra space! Thanks for watching

I was on the fence between ledge or peak size but with these grates I cam expand my cooking space when needed. Usually just cook for my family of 5 (3 little kids right now)...so I dont think I need a peak size hmmm
@BBBarbecueandPits4 ай бұрын
@@DregGayton777 oh yeah the grate system is awesome because it maximizes your space like you said because in the top there is all that wasted area. I usually just run 2 grates in it and it is perfect for what I need without bogging down the smoker. Thanks for watching!
@DregGayton7774 ай бұрын
@BBBarbecueandPits right on! Do you sometimes wish you wanted the larger size GMG? I'm still on the fence which stinking size to get!
@BBBarbecueandPits4 ай бұрын
@@DregGayton777 no not really. I can fit 8 racks of ribs on it running two racks so it’s plenty of space.

Could you do an update video on how well these have held up over the last year? I have been looking at getting them and really wanted to see how well it continues to work over time, how easy it is to clean/maintain them, and whether they've experienced any abnormal wear and tear. Cool vid!
@BBBarbecueandPits9 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I’ll do a cook video on the pellet and talk about them. They have held up good though just have to keep them seasoned well to stop any rust. But no wear and tear so far they are solid

Would you consider doing a 1 year update video on the pimp my grill racks? They seemed to perform well in this video, but I'd love to know your opinion now that you've had a year's worth of use.
@BBBarbecueandPits4 ай бұрын
@@mcf8720 I probably won’t just because the grill is stored for contests. But I will tell you that they have held up well with all the usage I’ve gotten out of them. I do like running 2 racks in there for the majority of the time because it gives you more space. I’m not just saying this either because I actually bought the rack system myself, the company did not give them to me.

@BBBarbecueandPits8 ай бұрын
I’m not sure my wife got it for me as a gift. It’s Cuisinart so probably Wal Mart or Target. The two rack system is perfect it gets rid of all that wasted space up top. Thanks for watching!

Any additional care needed for these racks to ensure they do not rust?
@BBBarbecueandPits11 ай бұрын
So I just season them with the pam and keep them dirty in between cooks. That keeps them greasy to prevent rust. If you clean them just be sure to dry them and season them right away. If you do that you should be good to go

@@BBBarbecueandPits Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately, those types of spray bottles are not considered food safe or BPA free. Moving forward, I would suggest replacing the one you're using with one that is food safe because of the chemicals that they use to make those sprayers are now going into your food. I know the food safe (BPA Free) ones cost more, but it's good to not have those chemicals in our foods. Great video and thanks again!!

@ good call. Yeah I mainly cook on drums now and don’t even use a spray bottle. Now I just add a water pan in the smoker and that just makes it easy
