On the American version of pimp my ride they always threw in disfunctional crazy stuff. Like hey Alan you said you want to feel threatened by your computer so we built it with a motion activated stun gun, so you need to be on your toes in its presence. We also linked it to a ouija bouard so now it can haunt your whole house since you said you wanted a computer with whole home connectivity

They also didn't always provide properly working vehicles. Often resulting in the contestants needing to have the vehicles towed on the way home because they broke down.

Anyone else remember the pimp my ride video game? That shit was fun as fuck to me as a kid. Also yeah I head the show sucked for contestants, but that's practically every TV show like that, especially when it involves money. I think the only ones that are okay are who wants to be a millionaire, and the ones run by Steve harvy, and the price is right (which also might be run by Steve harvy)

If it was a real pimp my ride thing … it wouldn’t be built to last more than a year or two, and there would be at least one aspect that made it virtually unusable. Like … “yo dawg. We heard you like Mac n cheese! So, we put a stove in the middle of your case! If the water boils over it’ll short out the whole thing, and the heat from the stove means you won’t be able to use it as a computer while it’s cooking … but, yo … Mac n cheese!” If you’ve never looked into what happened to those cars AFTER the episode ended … definitely go look some of that up. It’s fascinating!

Just like that show where people entered contests to have their homes renovated for free. Instead of adding extra bedrooms so their kids didn't have to sleep on the floor in the living room, like the homeowners actually wanted, they got crap like giant water fountains in their bathrooms. The kind you'd see in a town square. Those useless and obnoxiously extravagant "upgrades" caused the taxes on the houses to skyrocket. Several people ended up losing their homes.
