Awesome! I stumbled across one of your comments on Kentucky Ballistics and found your page.

Thank you for watching my friend. The channel is starting to grow! Let any of your (less) lethal defense friends know about it by sharing a video and passing along the word. Lots of content coming.

Funny you did this video as i was just watching something like this last week but the video looked like it was filmed with a potato in the 1990s. Experiments like this are always fun to try and something as simple as this launcher help understanding the mechanics.

Thanks for watching. I'm glad you can see merit in this type of fun experiment. I had this idea in my mind for a while and saw a couple videos where similar things were tried (CO2 rocket launchers) but I wanted to give it a try. This video was mostly for entertainment but always within these fun (even silly) tests are kernels of information to expand our understanding of the physical nature of air-powered launchers, no matter how crudely built.

Thanks for watching. Sometimes I try something outside the box just for the fun of it. Glad you found it entertaining.

Thanks for watching. It's a little different video. Sometimes it's good to turn things on their head and experiment with something new.

Very interesting. Would you care to try this experiment with an 80g co2? Thanks!💥💥💥
@ScaredyCatTactical2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I'm not that brave to go up to an 80g "rocket" yet, but I may find a 16g or 20g cart that fits snug in this "barrel". The key is best bore-match and a tighter seal to build pressure. If those criteria are met it should launch with decent power. Now a trigger mechanism is probably beyond my skill set but who know what the future holds. 👍

@@ScaredyCatTactical Maybe try going to one of the hardware stores to match some piping with your cart. I'm sure they would have something close. It may also be safer than the shower curtain rod.✌🏾
@ScaredyCatTactical2 жыл бұрын
@@thellc24-7 Metal piping would be better for sure. But anyone following this thread, don't try PVC. I've seen too many videos of PVC pipe exploding under paintball level air pressures. I think all of us working with airguns tend to underestimate 800-1000 PSI. Be safe out there.
@thellc24-72 жыл бұрын
@@ScaredyCatTactical For sure! PVC could end in disaster in so many ways. Please exercise safety and common sense when experimenting.!✌🏾

You said that the pin holder could be sealed and the gas escaping would not leak but help project the canister forward. Wrong! What projects the canister forward is the unequal internal pressure applied to the top of the canister opposite where the hole has been made. How does a rocket work in space when flying in a vacuum?
@ScaredyCatTactical2 ай бұрын
You are right about pressure being the key propellant…just like with a firearm.

Genious!!

Thanks man! Well, I wouldn't go that far though lol. I was really just doing some fun testing but as always there can be something important to learn. If the bore is matched better (maybe 16g CO2) and there is a real trigger mechanism (other than my lame garden stake) it really does have the ability to launch and could build PSI. I may figure out better ways but for now this was just a pilot experiment.

@@ScaredyCatTactical you could try adding duck tape to the cartridge. When i saw your title I thought you found a way to shoot the spent cartridges, lol.
@ScaredyCatTactical2 жыл бұрын
Duct tape might help too, great suggestion. There's a lot of CO2 vapor coming out the end of the barrel. I am still amazed it fires as well as it does with the bore match not being very tight. I am tempted to try a 16g or 20g CO2 cartridge because the bore will be tighter. But the metal cartridge itself will be heavier so it's hard to predict what would happen. I hadn't thought about a use for all the old cartridges I have here sitting in a bucket lol.

@@ScaredyCatTactical i know i dont have to tell you to be careful if you go bigger; LOL! i'd paint it orange so you can see it better (like NASA). I think i've thought of a way to shoot the spent ones but might not be very fast. it involves pvc pipe & a break barel airgun. it would work like the old ww2 grenade launcher.

@@homeagent I really appreciate your safety warning. Safety is my number one goal. It may not look too powerful on camera but in person it's scary when it launches. A big concern is accuracy and the cartridge doing a 180 degree 😓
