Agree that, when done well, achievements can help you become a better player and appreciate aspects of the game that you might otherwise have missed. To be fair it must be hard to get them just right, especially given that players all have different ability levels. But it looks like Zen hasn't even tried with these. Makes you wonder what the thinking is. Do they just want to bung in some token achievements so they can add an extra bullet point to their marketing that says the game has achievements? Are they only interested about the amount of time you spend in the app in the way that certain mobile games just want to to play longer and longer to maximise the likelihood of buying things? Are they just trying to make the achievements ultra accessible so anyone can get them? I don't get it. Btw, it's refreshing to hear a KZbinr providing honest feedback about the game's faults thanks, especially when it is constructive and clearly comes from just wanting it to be as good as possible. Many KZbinrs seem to be bending over backwards to be as "diplomatic" as possible though you can see the frustrations bubbling beneath the surface.

The reason is because many so-called influencers are actually brand ambassadors (shills) that gaming companies seek out and coerce into signing a form saying that they will only speak good about the game in exchange for free stuff and fake subs. Thanks for the feedback.

Man this just makes me appreciate Zaccaria pinball more. Grpahics wise its just as good as this if not better, and it feels so much better on my controller. So many more tweaks you can do for all skill levels in Zaccaria to.

it kinda reminds me of how fx3 williams collection on android is. It's all point based but if you collect enough you can basically get the tables for free if u play enough with having to pay cash. But I don't think there are any achievements only points trying to get u to spend real money but I don't see the point in that. I'll just play for free until I get all the tables

I did grind all the tables for free, except for the Indiana Jones one that cannot be unlocked. I have a ton of tickets and coins to buy anything new that would come out, but they stopped me from doing so with a unique purchase system that is just for this table.

Good call about the incentives and also the achievements that are included not being skill-based but rather grindy. And about how some of them should be made in such a way that they help you to learn the table better, etc.

I honestly don't give a crap about achievements. They're the worst development in game design ever and they're the worst form of “collecting” that only people with a psychological hangup for completion would even care about. The table matters more. Real pinball has no “achievements” besides getting good at the table and you discover the table by just playing or reading about people who play it. EDIT: I'd rather have zero achievements and avoid all the dumb menus honestly which maybe you'd prefer over “crappy achievements.”

So many great points brought up! I am disheartened about the impending release of this next pinball platform on consoles. And how much longer we'll have to wait to get things that are constructed in the manners that you mentioned.

Should you try pinball buttons on the side of a box? And see if you do better? It is hard for me to translate my true Zaccaria Farfalla machine into a controller.
