I just ordered this pattern last night. And I searched for the video so I could watch it. I had stiff interfacing somewhere in my craft room so I went looking for it and decluttered where it was which was under my cutting table. Killed two birds with one stone, found my interfacing and organized under my cutting table. Can’t wait to start making them.

This was helpful. I got the patten and kept stacking the pieces on top of themselves and it wasn’t lining up. So I watched how you turned them to cut the pieces and that made all the difference!

Hi Nikki, I love your videos and my 6-yr old grandson loves watching them with me. We decided to make your coffee sleeves for his mother but the templates only print blank sheets. One link only has the fabric template. The other has both but neither will print. I tested that it is not my printer by trying other sites but it is just yours that I can't print. Hope you can help me out. We also plan to make book sleeves and markers after this. Thanks for the great ideas.

Could I put insulbrite in this? My hands still get cold and hot from the fabric ones, I am wondering if I can stick some in there too. Might make it a lot thicker. Im going to try this but increase the pattern an extra half edge on perimeters just to make sure it fits.

This reminds me of cake pan cozies I've seen, that help your cakes bake more evenly and less domed. You soak them in water (and wring out) before putting onto your cake pan and baking as usual. Obviously you'd want to use 100% cotton fabric and batting, never polyester for this.
@PinCutSew3 жыл бұрын
Oh interesting, I’ve never seen those before, but what a great idea!

Hi there! Thanks for the template and video! SO excited to try this!! Do you think you could you use a couple layers of cut away stabilizer for the inside?🤔

Hi Nikki, What a cute little project! I’m taking lessons now and want to try making this! Can you tell me what size/width of Velcro is required? Thanks so much! 😊
@PinCutSew2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! The Velcro only comes in 1” widths. Make sure you get the sew in kind! The sticky kind won’t work, it will just gum up under your needle.

@@PinCutSewokay thank you!

Hi Nikki! I bought the pattern but keep getting confused on whether the smaller (more angled) side should be the side that gets overlapped, or the side that overlaps the other. I hope that question makes sense. I'm not sure if it should go under (get overlapped), or over (overlap the not angled side).
@PinCutSewАй бұрын
I usually do the angled side on top, but it doesn’t actually matter, it works either way!
@epe7462 жыл бұрын
Hello Nikki, does it have to be peltex? I have a lot of fusible interfacing and a lot of cotton batting, but no peltex.

You could try it with other materials! I know one person told me they used cotton batting and liked it :)

I don't understand. I cut literally 45 of these for Christmas gifts, and my pieces don't line up... I'm really upset.. the pattern doesn't say flip it to make a mirror image. Am I stupid or did I just waste tons of fabric?
@PinCutSewАй бұрын
I’m so sorry, yes, when you cut any sewing pattern out, you cut two at a time with the fabric folded in half, so it results in 2 mirror images.
@Skittles101487Ай бұрын
@@PinCutSew I apparently have never done that 😭 is there any way to selvage it?! Most of the ones I cut out are 2 facing the same way
@PinCutSewАй бұрын
@@Skittles101487 I would make pairs with what you can and then you can cut new pieces to make the rest! If you're out of fabric, you can buy an inexpensive muslin to back the ones that need pairs still, so the fun fabric is on the front, and the back is plain and that will be just fine. Don't give up on them, it's all a learning experience and we've all made mistakes like this!
@Skittles101487Ай бұрын
@@PinCutSew that's a great idea, I at least have the outer/front fabric and can use cheap solid stuff for the middle that touches the cup. Thank you!!

After the main part is sewn, it is quite a bit smaller than the pattern. The fabric is pretty tight to the peltex. Yours looks to be just about the same as the pattern size. What am I doing wrong? I watched several times and am doing what you’re doing! Thanks.
