Nice video. I live in the NC Sandhills where I am also fortunate to hear pine barrens tree frog choruses :-)

We have them in Hammonton. Usually have to fish a bunch of tadpoles out of our pool in the spring and let them grow up in a fish tank till they are manture enough to go back out into the yard.

Never will. The urban sprawl is terrible in North Jersey and rapidly coming down.

Searching all over the pine barrens and cannot hear or see them. Are they extinct? We must save these creatures!

Interestingly, New Jersey is known as Nyūjājī ニュージャージー in Japanese (Nihongo 日本語 にほんご).

Man.. It's sad, but i have a feeling they're on their way out. I grew up and still live in the pine barrens of nj. I spend a lot of times in the woods and I've never even seen one. I've only heard one on two occasions and that was 15+ years ago. I'm 28, and my brother is 44 years old. When he was little they weren't everywhere, but they were easily found in the marsh behind our house and other places in this area. From 8 to 12 years old. I spend countless hours looking for one and never found one. Its like they're not in our area anymore. I'm hoping they just left this area of the pine barrens but I'm not sure. I think their population is severely dwindling. Idk if its true but I've heard They're very susceptible to environmental toxins, put in the environment by none other than good ole humans. I think were gonna lose this species. They exist only in a select few places and they're losing those areas.
