I honestly thought the "new king procession" would take a sudden sharp turn just before reaching the castle, and they'd carry the player up a mountain (that was just offscreen the whole time or something) ... and then dump 'em into a volcano. I mean the actual ending still threw in a dark twist with the fate of the old king, but it would've been hilarious.
