My husband grew up eating mini pineapple pies in Mexico. Then a few years ago Walmart started caring them in their bakery brand so he was sooo excited. But we’d been looking for them for a year and I guess they don’t carry them anymore so he’s so devastated. So I’m going to try to make them myself.

I'm in the same situation I'm doing the pie for my wife. Since Walmart stopped making them due to their low popularity of the pie. This is crazy who doesn't love a good American classic as the pineapple pie?

Been to the intrepid, great museum and aircraft carrier. Love pineapple pie!

Yeah! It was a really cool museum, and an even greater find to discover the recipes for all the desserts they used to make on board!

How much cornstarch in tsp/tablespoon? I dont have a scale
@iamsprung Жыл бұрын
it would be about 2.5 tablespoons! if you do a good amount of baking, I do highly recommend a kitchen scale, you can find some great ones for around $10 and they last for years and years!

Hello Ms. Kae, can we please have the measurements in cups instead of oz, i quite have not bought my weighing scale yet😅 thanks & good day!
@iamsprung3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I completely understand the ease of cup measurements! However, since baking is definitely a science, and precise measurements will always lead to a better result, I do highly recommend a scale (you can actually find very inexpensive ones, and they're so useful around the kitchen, especially in baking!), one like this (or any that you prefer) would be great! www.amazon.com/dp/B0885Q6S45?ref=exp_squishmarsh_dp_vv_d

hello i am not actually baking but i love pineapple pie i like it i want to try it on my own but my problem is my oven temperature is 230Fc maximum and my pie plate is 15cm is there another way how to bake it in that temperature? thanks in advance
@iamsprung2 жыл бұрын
hi! the temperature mentioned is actually in fahrenheit, so if you’re baking in celsius, you can just convert to the appropriate temperature equivalent! as for the size, if your pie dish is smaller, you can just reduce the amount of pie filling you put in! you can still make the same amount of pie dough (never hurts to have extra), and even make the same amount of filling, and save some for later, just using what you need to fill the pie plate! your bake time will be a bit less, so start with baking at half the time and check it every 10mins until it’s done!

Too fast working on that pie crust. Can't even follow what she's doing.
@iamsprung2 жыл бұрын
Hi! This is sped up for time, and the original pie crust recipe was not included in their recipe, so I used another one, and mention that you can use any recipe you like (online, or otherwise), or even make life easier and use a pre-made store-bought crust!
