June 9th 2024 3:00 Pacific standard Time. I'm ready for a set of irons My last three have been pings I love the look of the g730 until this video I was looking at a g430 thanks for the excellent review

The new ping looks like the old srixon z565 iron. Especially in the cavity design.👍

Yeah I've heard that. I'm not really familiar with all the Srixon models, I've never stocked it and to be honest I don't get asked for it. I'm sure they're good though. Just can't do everything unfortunately.

I wish there were irons that had large faces but a thinner sole.

Large face is punishing on miss hits if you don't have mass in the right spots. I don't think it's that easy to do.

i530 is pretty big and not a hugely wide sole but I wouldn't describe it as thin.

@@pipebliss Mainly, I miss my old Zing 2's. Super forgiving on the toe, awesome turf interaction with the thin sole.

No, not really. The Callaway Paradym irons have a forged face, so should feel even softer than the 730s whilst still being really forgiving and long.

730 hits longer and straighter with more forgiveness.

It seems like for a decent golfer such as yourself, the i530, G430, and G730 are basically the same.

Yes, in fact I actually think I was getting better results from the i530. But you're right the distance etc. is really similar.

Offset doesn’t promote a hook. Offset sets the cg further back to help launch the ball higher. Common misconception.

Didnt think it promoted a hook, helps square the face for people who slice.

I recently got fitted for all the current major brands (Cobra, Callaway, Titleist, TayorMade, Mizuno, & Ping). Long story short, the g430 was the winner. Club head speed 86.2 Ball speed 117.2 Launch 16.2 Back spin 4044 Peak height 29 Carry 173 Total distance 189 All my balls were within 10 yards from each other. All the others were all over the place.

Was there a bit of offset on the Ping Eye 2 though. Otherwise, yes, I often wondered why Ping didn't just keep it going in the background to be different. Great all rounder.
