Kazama is such a fucking badass. Definitely my favorite character from Ping Pong. But they are all absolutely incredible. Highlight of the show is seeing Smile's genuine happiness in the photo of his best friend winning it all. Brings tears to my eyes.

People dont really appreciate things for what they are. Like they dont like shoes than arent popular brands. or this for example, because the animation looks "lazy" "low effort" means it's bad. They dont even consider the if the art is good because they already have reasons why they shouldn't like it which is so wrong

yo, just found you channel, Ping Pong the Animation is my favorite anime, glad to see a fellow enjoyer. one reason i really love this show is because it's so nontypical in everything it does, the animation, music, characters, and subjects that this show tackles are all so unique and there aren't many shows that try to go for the same vibe. I love that this is a show about passion and so character driven, in most sports anime you expect the main guy to just play the sport forever and maybe become pro, but in this show the main guy realizes his heart isn't in the competition but instead the act of playing his friends is good enough for him. I think this show is nearly perfect and is one of my first recommendations to anyone i talk to about anime.

Dude, this video was incredibly joyful to watch. Nothing too loud or annoyingly exagerated. The sibilants are too sharp in your mic audio. But still, I watched the entire video since you sound like you were enjoying your time talking about this which in return was enjoyable to listen to. Thank you for the video, really appreciate it.

@@Ah_Lecks When I watched the anime, I rated it obviously 10/10 but then I looked at the list and I was like, these other animes can not be in the same league. So I lowered everything elses rating by 1. I've recommended your video to many and watched it a couple of times with others. Wish you the best of luck on your videos, you deserve a massive audience.

Im glad you made a video on something I've actually watched myself. AND thanks for mentioning the soundtrack. Kensuke Ushio is a GOD! This guy made me watch Boogiepop, Devilman Crybaby, Japan Sinks 2020 and A Silent Voice. Every second was worth it. By the way, I just saw that you uploaded a video about space dandy and funnily enough, ushio took part in it too.

Just finished watching it. The only sports anime I've ever watched and the thing is it's not even a sports anime in a sense. It's an amazing character driven story coming in the guise of an anime on ping pong. Severely underrated. Loved it. OP and ED are both jammers. And to people who think anime like Ping Pong and Mob Psycho probably aren't good cuz of the artstyle, you're missing out just stfu and watch it.

to be honest, you should've also put the live action in the intro bit because that movie also was a massive hit in Japan. although the story was somewhat simplified, it captured the manga well, had a great line up of actors, and the soundtrack was crazy. the music selection of the anime was heavily inspired by the live action.

Kensuke Ushio is famous not only for his work on numerous theatrical soundtracks, but also as a support member of the Japanese techno band Denki Groove.

Actually, Kensuke Ushio is in a band called LAMA with some of the original members of the legendary band Supercar. Supercar was featured on the soundtrack for the live-action Ping Pong movie back in 2002. So, the Ping Pong anime soundtrack is kind of like a continuation of what Supercar did, but with a more electronic vibe, which is totally LAMA's thing.

@@naoyax76 Check out the live-action Ping Pong OST. Takkyu Ishino from Genki Groove did some track there, and you'll instantly pick up the electronic feel. It's like time-traveling back to the Japanese electronic scene of the late 90s, early 2000s. No wonder Kensuke Ushio used that sound for the anime soundtrack, it's totally his vibe. You can hear the influences, especially since he's worked with all those artists.

You discovered it lkinda ate, but glad you did find it eventually. More people should give it a chance, despite the unorthodox art style. I like how Yuasa doesn't follow the stereotypical art style. IMO anime art style has gotten a bit down into a pigeonholed.funk. Alternative art styles breath fresh air into anime.

I finished this anime yesterday, while I do think you make good points in this video, it definitely didn’t exceed my expectations considering how highly rated it is. It’s decent/good, but not great. Up until episode 9 I still couldn’t figure out what the aim for this story was. Let’s not talk about how dramatic Kazama was when having his own monologue about Ping Pong. My guy, it’s not that deep. Didn’t even achieve what he was meant to even when Peco showed him how to “fly”. You’d think he’d be more motivated, but nope. At the end of the day only Peco and Kon made it.
