You should read more of Oshi no Ko. At least read it up to chapter 10, then you'll start to understand. No joke. Beyond the reincarnation thing, it's actually masterfully written. @No, that's wrong. Idk if you read the whole thing, I'm not gonna go deep into this either, but the story focuses a lot more on the dark side of the entertainment industry. It explores a lot of what popular people have to experience, from idols to tv dramas. One of the deepest arcs of the manga is Aquas, and do I need to explain everything he's going through cause he has a load of trauma in his palms right now-- This story does not focus on their reincarnation at all, there's a lot more going on if you look closely into it.

It's WAY TO F-ING PRETTY FOR ITS OWN GOOD I GIVE IT THAT THO. Even if you can't get itno the story, the art book is worth it for just how much eyecandy it gives. I don't think the new re-do of the anime will make it any better then the last time they tried since it's just way to long. I absoulutely love tbhk and it's one of the first ever mangas I've ever read and ever since then I was not able to finde anything better then that out there. There are some that come close to it like (personal preffrence and I know my opinion sucks but) Blue spring ride, nichijou, card captor sakura, and even komi can't communicate (sh*tty opinion but I also enjoyed white light ceremony a lot... and maybe fushigi yuji a lot too BUT THAT WAS LIKE WAY BACK AT THE START, NOW ITS JUST...yk...)

Surprised to see 'Worm' show up, but it's a welcome surprise. I haven't even read the actual story, not even a single chapter, but I'm a fan of it just because of the fanfictions I've read of it. The fandom has some amazingly creative writers who do amazing things with the source material. One day I'll read the actual story, I'm sure.

20th century boys is one of my favorite manga ever, when it ended it filled me with the sort of pain that you have when you are at the end of a journey, the sort of feeling that if you recall back after years, it will fill you with a bittersweet sensation, after all the mysteries, after all the defeats and successes of the characters, I understood that this was not a simple story, it was way more than that, it was life. I'm not gonna lie when i read it for the first time i was a teenager full of himself and when read the end, it filled me with humbleness and I cried like a baby, I'm not gonna spoil the end but I'm just gonna say that the kind of crying I had it was only for this manga, I felt like some old man remembering when he was young, i understood that it will always remain into my heart. So yeah 20th century boys is decent.

What hits the most is that kenjis group is a bunch of broken people that has (almost) nothing to lose, and in the course of the story they get constantly humiliated by the intelligence of the "friend",especially kenji since after a while he's the one who got defeated and humiliated the most, there's more but that is the most I can say without spoiling too much. P.S. When I said that they gets defeated doesn't mean it's the finale, it's just thtt they gets some L's during the whole story.

Duuuude someone recommended Worm? I actyally recommend reading the rest of Arc 1, because the FINAL chapter is just... the main character's father having a mental breakdown over the fact that his girl daughter is gone at 2 in the morning and it highlights the qualities of this author to intensify and perplex you with the mundane in his setting. That's my lad right there. Read the whole thing in 2013, been a fan of the author ever since. And cute fact: He has only IMPROVED in his writing. His most recent book is about three girls getting into a REALLY dark magic system that has every possibility of sending someone that uses it into fates worse than death at every turn, and the SCARIEST most uncomfortable chapters are just about the dynamic of one of these girls and her father at home. It is actually terrifying psychological torture.

Inside Mari is so underrated. When talking about Shuzo Oshimi everybody talks about Aku No Hana or Chi no Wadachi, which are of course masterpieces of their own, but the way Inside Mari is written really builds up the plot twist on an intimate and personal level. While he says that it talks about loliness in college, I think it more relates to a feel of alienation of high school students in Japan, something more similar to Love & Pop by Hideaki Anno than anything else. The darkness hidden beyond that period of life, the perversion and how the catharsis is delivered is so beautiful in my opinion, it can be interpreted as a heartful Bildungsroman in a way. Chi no Wadachi is Oshimi's magnum opus though, there's nothing to say about that
