Brilliant Shawnee love it. I’m back into film for personal projects at work it has to be digital I love for mediums but for a purely enjoyable nostalgic experience I absolutely adore shooting film. I never thought about trying pinhole but now I’m in. Thanks for the info and inspiration liked and Deffo subbed. Regards Paul

If you have an interchangeable lens camera,you can drill a hole in a body cap and put a piece of thin metal with a pin hole in it.I have a pin hole cap for some off my digital cameras.It's great fun to experiment with.

Hey this video was awesome, thank you for making it! I've been wanting to try this out for a while and this is one of the best how-tos that I've found

SO AWESOME... I spent some money a couple of years ago and bought a NOON 612 and a Zero Image 4X5, both beautifully crafted wood pinhole cameras. This makes me want to go back and revisit that media. It does me no good just looking at them sitting shiny on my shelf. Thanks for the shove out of the nest to finally try them both out!

Thanks for this Where and how do you put the film in the box??
@ShawneeUnion2 жыл бұрын
Just load the film in a dark room. 120 film uses a bit extra leading material to reduce light leaks.

Glad to see you back! I've also been on a sabbatical and away from social media and photography this last month or so. So your video comes at a very good time! I'm inspired to take my own pinhole-debonair camera out for some fun. Keep on pinholin'! rt

Nice vid! I was thinking of doing pinhole panos. How do you meter for pinholes as the aperture is so small? And also do you get sharp images with pinholes? And wouldn't the vibrations of moving the shutter up and down cause motion blur?
@ShawneeUnion6 жыл бұрын
Here are some tricks. Use a meter table and overexpose, better to have too much light and not use it then not enough. The better your tripod or sturdier your surface and shooting technique (less vibration) the sharper the images. I always apply downward pressure on the top of the camera so there is less chance of vibration.

Did you make the brown pinhole camera by yourself or you bought it?
@ShawneeUnion6 жыл бұрын
Bought it, it’s an Ondu pinhole camera.

That would be pretty awesome if there were flashes going off too. You'd have some rad ghosting.

You should do a video on shaped boken.

Where do you send your film to get it developed these days? How much does it cost for these types of film and develop services? Thanks in advance!
@ShawneeUnion6 жыл бұрын
Old School Photo Lab and The Dark Room are really hard to beat. About 15$ a roll with shipping. Local is best if you live in a big city.
@GavinRemme8 жыл бұрын
Do you have to worry about focus at f/100+?
@ShawneeUnion8 жыл бұрын
Since the F-stop is so big and the angles usually so wide everything will be in focus. Most pinholes don't even have focusing mechanisms.

Where do your film developed??
@ShawneeUnion3 жыл бұрын
There are places locally where I get things developed.
@ShawneeUnion3 жыл бұрын
If you’re in America some big box stores may still have drop offs. If not old school photo lab has a mail in service that is great, about $20 a roll. Less if you send multiple at a time to reduce shipping costs.

Just wondered if it’s possible to make a pin hole aperture to go over a mobile phone camera! Anyone ever tried it and did it work?
@ShawneeUnion7 жыл бұрын
Seems possible, you just need to be able to keep it still for a long time.

I would think it wont work since phones arent designed for long exposure. I use a canon 200is with chdk for intervalometer photos and i blacked out my room. I made a curtain rod for a screen that i project an image through a 3/16 inch hole in some roofing felt covering the wondow. I photograph the images at 400 iso, f3.4 for 8 seconds each then compile 300 photos for about a 20 second sunrise. My selfie in full sun is kind of blurry. Dont wear cowboy hats or you wont have a face.
