If I could draw attention back to the trial, this sheds light on how yellow acted. Maybe she finally relented to give her her own colony and after the “shattering” happened, yellow felt that it was her fault because she knew that pink wasn’t ready. So to avoid blaming herself, she pointed to the leader of the rebellion (Rose) and said “this is public enemy number 1” so she could at least have the satisfaction that the one who supposedly did this was gone 100%.

I have never thought that pink diamond was rose before this video, but the second you said we don't know pd's abilities it clicked. Possession. Like Steven did with Lars. After falling in love with the earth and its humans she ordered a rose quartz to lead a rebellion. She possessed that rose, and shattered her own body, the way only a diamond would know how, then kept up the charade of being that rose. It would explain her experiments, the leg ship in the desert, Stevens powers being more than an average rose quartz(the gems are always surprised by what he can do), his strong connection to the diamonds, and the memories he was having in this episode...

That's what I'm saying, I never believed that theory before because they definitely existed in separate spaces at the same time, but maybe pink ordered her to start the rebellion, and everything rose did before hand was actually under pink's orders, just look at the devotion lower gems show their diamonds and it's believable that rose would do it without hesitation. But eventually the diamonds could have been winning, and maybe pink was afraid of being discovered or she just needed to do something to turn the tide back in favor of the rebels. I've thought about this a little more since my first post, and it actually explains more than I'd listed, like it adds more depth to pearl's devotion to rose and why she still won't say anything to Steven about any of it(involuntary I might add like she's still under orders), and why rose was so against the breaking point(she'd still be working under pink at the time and not want to see her be shattered for real) and eventually how rose was able to save pearl and garnet from the corruption too. It explains why her guards weren't there at her shattering(she'd have sent them away if it were an inside job) and zarcon's theory that it HAD to be a diamond who shattered her, her deep guilt over what she'd done(betraying her sisters, stealing rose's life and individuality, and not being able to save more gems from corruption), and all of her attempts to heal the corruption being failures because she was alone and you need more than one diamond to do it(maybe Steven will need the diamonds help with that) or she couldn't figure out how to do it from rose's body(but maybe Steven will) or she just didn't know how(this is the most unlikely, but if it goes that way maybe blue will tell Steven)

I'm still on the fence on whether to support this theory fully, but I'll admit: Rose being PD would be poetic. We just saw Yellow basically tell Nephrite that she didn't care at all about organic life (probably a view shared with White and Blue.) So, it would be pretty ironic if Pink, as Rose, fights for organic life and ends up falling in love with Greg, an organic life form.

The mural of Rose holding up a diamond to deflect another diamond's power is really interesting to me. Eyeball said that she saw Rose shatter PD with her own eyes which seems very one sided as that couldn't have been the whole story. In the trial Zircon did mention that a higher power was responsible for her shattering as well, that couldn't have been tangential... And the mural shows both sides of that story with Rose and a diamond. Of course it's just a theory, I'm excited to see how things are going to play out.

I just realized that so far, Pink is the only one with her gem facing sideways. Blue and Yellows either are facing with the top of the gem sticking out, or the gem is simply shaped as a diamond. Pink's is the only one that looks like a genuine diamond.

What about that chest in Lion's mane? Also everyone is forgetting about Steven's body snatching ability too and if Steven could do it, it may be possible for Pink Diamond to do it to. If she was going for revenge against the diamonds for treating her so poorly, she could have set it up so her guards were not around and when Rose went to strike her, she swapped bodies and knew exactly how to shatter her own gemstone. After collecting the pieces, she could have placed them in that chest found in Lion's mane so that some day if she wanted to go back she would always have that option. This could also be the answer to curing corruption. After witnessing what her sisters did to other gems and seeing them turn into monsters, it horrified her and she decided to take on the role of Rose Quartz and that is why when meeting Greg she was laughing at him like he was a cute pet(in that scene where he tries fusing by dancing) After they talk, Pink realises that Rose was right about defending the planet and began to fall more and more in love with it. Looking at Pink's gem, it already looks like there is a piece missing or it is deformed/defected and it may be possible that her gemstone was weaker or had an easy spot that only she would know where to strike to make it shatter. This may explain why Rose's healing was so OP after Pink's shattering(could be wrong about that detail) but she may have also transferred some of her abilities to Rose's body while swapping places. There's probably some holes in this but I wanted to share my thoughts on the matter P:

I believe Pink Diamond and Rose are quite alike in ways. The fact that PD made Rose, and obviously Rose took after her in ways such and colour and looks, Rose also loved humans as well. So It would make sense that PD took a liking to humans. It would also make sense for PD to shatter herself (or give herself up), more as Rose also gave up herself to become Steven. If She took after PD I mean. Though she wasn't shattered, she still made the sacrifice to give up herself and her form as if she were to be shattered, and sometimes the Gems treat it as if she were shattered. But these would be only theories since Rose and PD are connected in the first place.

I could picture it like this: Rose knows she needs to shatter PD, she goes up to her, aiming her weapon towards her, but can’t bring herself to do it, she stops her weapon in front of her. PD seizes the opportunity and forces her own body at Rose’s weapon, shattering herself, but everyone witnessing the event sees it as Rose shattering PD. Who knows, it’s just a theory.

I know that Pink was shown as very immature and childish in the dream but i feel like the dream took place during her early days way way waaay(obv) before she got Earth as her first colony, before she was even READY to have her own colony. Since White Diamond is (presumably) the oldest and first diamond, it’s safe to assume that she rose to power/created an empire that spread over galaxies only through trial and error. So, when the rest of the diamonds were made she probably didn’t want them to repeat her past mistakes in order to further advance their growing empire at a faster pace. So she kinda made every diamond wait for a bunch of years and prove themselves responsible enough to be able to have their own colony. I feel like the dream that Pink was in was set during this time when se still had to prove herself. An since she was not only ‘defective’, but was also the youngest, she had a bunch of pressure on her. I still stick w my theory of Pink Diamond secretly starting the rebellion with Rose without letting the other crystal gems or diamond know, kind of like a silent business partner. She was looked down upon and scorned because of her defections by the other diamonds, so it’d make sense if she held resentment deep enough to start a whole rebellion against them. I feel like she matured and became very nurturing towards her own gems(all of which have been shown to be defective, like her) as a way to make up for the fact that she was so looked down upon and chastised by her fellow diamonds(which were most likely just yellow and White Diamond, considering how much Blue is still grieving over Pink’s shattering after 5000 years she mustve been very nurturing and motherlike towards Pink. OR, Blue could’ve acted the same way Y&W acted towards Pink and the reason she’s grieving so much is out of guilt because of how much she mistreated her while she was still alive.)She didn’t wanna be like them because of how much It hurt and messed her up. She didn’t want to treat her own gems, who she grew to love as she aged, the way she was treated her entire life. It would also give an explanation as to why Pink was shattered by the diamonds, because we KNOW it wasn’t Rose. Not only was she defective by their standards, but imagine how furious White and Yellow must’ve been when they found out that Pink was secretly leading the rebellion. Furious enough to shatter her. I mean they’d shatter literally any gem for anything but they must’ve been extra furious to set up an entire plan to make it seem like Rose was the one who shattered her. I also feel like Yellow and White Diamond hid the fact that Pink was heading the Rebellion from Homeworld and from Blue. If they had told HW, it could inspire another rebellion from any diamonds who were loyal to Pink, and they couldn’t have that. But if they told Homeworld that they shattered Pink, it could’ve ALSO started another rebellion among gems loyal to Pink. But if they told Blue and if she actually was a nurturing motherlike role for Pink, it could’ve fucked up the power balance between them. So w&y kept it between themselves and made it seem like Rose shattered Pink in order to avoid any more Homeworld gems rebelling against them

I think its worth to mention that Pink Diamond's gem is not the same shape as the other diamonds. Pink's gem looks more like a real life diamond, one the other hand, the other diamonds' gem shape is more like a stereotypical diamond shape. Also worth noting that she is a lot smaller compared to the other diamonds, but maybe that is just how she felt, small, or that is her actual size, which may hint at her being defective.

In the murals of The Diamonds, White not only has the same number of planets and moons as Yellow, Blue, and Pink combined, but the same sets of planets with moons orbiting them! For example, Yellow holds a planet with 4 moons (three close together, and one off to the side) in her right hand. White has this same 4-mooned-planet at the very top above her head! (Remember to count the planets Yellow is holding in her hands. The Planet White is holding between her hands in most likely Home World, witch the Diamonds share dominion over)

The problem I have with Pink being the one to engineer her own shattering is that she would have known Blue and Yellow would go ballistic and raze the Earth in revenge, so this would be a very dumb plan. My sister and I believe that Yellow Diamond actually covered up Pink Diamond's death.Since Yellow Diamond talked down to her, Pink Diamond was upset and she might have left (or not we don't know yet). If you look the mirror Pink breaks is the same shape as her gem. But if we take this to the extreme we can see that maybe Pink was planning to shatter her self but then Rose shattered her, possibly with the help of another Diamond, and her shards were put in the chest because Rose thought she could revive her with her healing powers. And just to say, what if Homeworld has Pink's shards and they originally tried to force fuse shards so they could bring her back, but it then showed something else that was a lot more useful and helpful, the Cluster.

Also, we’re not sure if she was going to get another planet after Earth since she was looked as the baby of the diamonds. What if the diamonds actually grow? Weird theory, but maybe they can somehow grow up because they are diamonds. In lots of images and Garnets reference, its shows Pink as a large figure like the other diamonds, plus the spiky hair and such. And gem is also cut like the regular diamonds as well. So unless the team just decided to change how she should look, maybe she changes, and once she conquers earth, she does fall in love with it? I don't know, a lot of thoughts honestly. the team is definitely taking this to an odd turn.

I didn't suspect any of the diamonds (except for white) to have shattered her. She acted like a brat to simply get attention, she was belittled even though she was a diamond. She was defective, overcooked, and because of these factors it would have made her feel weaker than she really was. So in my belief It could have been a suicide in some way. If this were true then that seen where she said,'I want my own _______." has a different meaning. She truly wanted this pain to go away, she wanted to be free.

I think yellow or white killed her by accident, while fighting against Rose Quartz and the rebells. Pink suddenly got into the battlefield (she was curious) and interrupted a Diamond's attack to Rose. Yellow and White blamed Rose for the crime and forced everyone to keep that lie, in order to mantain Blue's loyalty or love (I'm not sure, it depends of White's character) Rose, and after that the crystal gems, blamed theirselves for the crime too. Because they caused the rebellion, and indirectly his dead. And that's why the Cristal Gems always get terrified when steven asks about Pink. Sorry for my english, I'm still learning.

This feels like an attempt to use a single shot from the latest episode to shore up essentially the same theory that people who don't want Rose Quartz to have shattered Pink Diamond came up with shortly after Eyeball said Rose Quartz shattered Pink. I doubt it's true.The "evidence" is weak, aside from that one Zircon's confused statement that Rose shouldn't have been able to sneak in and assassinate Pink. There's probably something more to Pink Diamond's shattering than we currently know, but I highly doubt it absolves Rose Quartz of guilt. That would short-circuit a couple of of Steven's major internal conflicts (dealing with his mother having killed a Gem and the residual guilt from kinda being said mother).

To me, it doesn't seem like she is a spoiled brat. She's smaller, and possibly weaker than the others. She was probably their baby and they treated her like a baby too. When I watched it I felt a connection with it in way. Feeling inadequate, not enough and sometimes those emotions come out like "spoiled" and bratty when anger is involved and context isn't. If she shattered herself it explains Blue's deep sorrow and Yellow's anger. Putting into a perspective of humans, when someone we love take their own life we feel sad and we feel angry. Pink's is an upside-down brilliant cut, while Yellow and Blue diamond have a cut I'm not sure of, but resembles emerald-cut.

I've heard two theories recently that intrigue me, but IDK how much I like them: #1 Pink Diamond is bubbled, but she's in the chest that Steven hasn't been able to open inside of Lion's dimension. #2 Rose is actually Pink Diamond, but shape shifted, which would explain Steven/Rose's numerous unique abilities.

Pink diamond most probably isn’t defective/overcooked, it’s a diamond, I think they would put the most effort they possibly can into making it, I suggest that pink diamond is an error to gym which means she needs “limb inhances/gem-destabilizes” just like peridot, she was made small

I agree 150%. Why? Because PD is literally stuck between a middle and a hard place. She is defective, but a Diamond. She will never fit in or be able to please those she cares about. She probably has some deeply rooted self esteem issues because of this. She probably thought the rebels won't accept her and if she continues to side with Homeworld then she has nothing to gain (she already lost their respect by failing on Earth). She struggled to find balance because there was none. Suicide seems like a definite possibility. Rose probably tried to talk her our of it but failed, and then tried to stop her by poofing her with the sword. She was too late and we know the rest.

I don't want to be quick to absolve Rose of her "crime" but from the perspective of someone writing the show, I could see how this could foreshadow Pink shattering herself. Pink is shown to be spoiled and childish -- but driven to get what she wants. This could possibly lead to her own downfall, much like Jasper.

this theory gives me a new theory. what if pink diamond shattered... and the dragments became all of the rose quartz? and then thats why they were all bubbled instead of being shattered further? she may have shattered herself on purpose to CREATE this colony.

I feel like these theories are most likely what is going to actually happen, but personally I think the best story would be if Yellow Diamond was somehow involved with the assassination of Pink Diamond. Given how cold she is and how she treated her, it would make sense that she had little tolerance for failure and used her sisters death to not only secure a war against earth but also somehow give herself more power within the diamond authority. I feel like we won't know for sure till white Diamond comes along.

I was so-so on the theory that Pink ditched Homeworld and ran off, but now I don't believe it. The way Pink was portrayed in Jungle Moon destroyed that theory for me. The Pink that was portrayed in Jungle Moon was that of a petulant, and spoiled child. I don't know if you've been around those kinds of kids, but there's no way Pink could have stayed quiet afterward. She would want to gloat and boast that she was smarter than Yellow. I liked the video, it was nice and well articulated. It has to be Rose in combination with one of the other Diamonds. But that's a conversation for another video.
