@@Gerardempire organ stops (the sounds, like flutes, reeds etc) can be 8 foot based (same pitch as the piano, a-442 hz) then you have 16 foot stops (the pipes height Is measured in foot) which give the sound One octave lower, and that's what Richard did. In that great moment the sound gets deeper. Yes, the organ Is the king of instruments (Mozart said that) and you can feel its greatness on a Hammond, too!

I agree mate, The intro on Deep Purples "child in time" has that same haunting sound that only the Hammond let's you experience, Pity it doesn't get used much these days (thanks to simon cowell and his X factor retards that can't play any instruments, synthesisers are their ultimate weapon P.S. I also think their voices are done on the synthesiser) But at least there's still folks like us out there that listen to (and hear) real music by proper musicians👍 Peace my friend.

Okay , I actually did make a Pink Floyd song compilation for a friend's funeral, at the request of him (when he was still living) and the request of his sister afterwards; I put as many old obscure PF songs on a cassette (As these were his faves) as I could muster out of my CD compilation (this was in the 1990s) and the cassette was indeed played for about 45 mins, Give or take, at his calling hours....
