There's something magical about the live Floyd performances; bare, stripped-down, meat and potatoes. There isn't a wall of production backing them up. It's just them; the true magicians at their craft and in their prime. This, Raving and Drooling, and the other tunes (Darkside of the Moon live and Wish You Were Here live) are the purest (and my personal favorite) versions of these great works of art.

@@zyrrhos The first half of the concert was great, with him singing a lot of the great PF classics. Then after break, he started good then went into his post-Floyd songs (which suck) and then he became very political with anti-American and anti-trump rantings and songs. He attacked Trump with an extremely hateful vengeance that must have surprised a lot of people because people started leaving (I should have also but was hoping he'd get back to PF music, but he never did). Even if you don't like Trump, a Brit shouldn't come over here and attack our president! He's garbage.

@@whitebeardInn Not something I would really care for, but he's a political activist so I would expect that going in. He goes after the West's foreign policies in general, so he's equally reviled in his home country. And I'm pretty sure he never fell for the RussiaGate nonsense because he certainly didn't support the war in Ukraine. Yeah. I believe this epic and mellow sound was the ultimate vision, at least musically, that Syd Barrett in at least 1967 had in mind for Pink Floyd. However at that time he was frustrated in being unable to help Pink Floyd realise that vision with him. Sadly by time the Floyd had finally realised Syd's vision completely in 1975 they soon threw it away through their bitter fallouts which combined with their marital and other personal issues left the band a twilight shadow of their former glory by 1987-1994.

Ive been listening to this whole night, repeatedly, staying awake and on mushroom/alco/hero combo and I think I got post-Barrett Floyd tiny bit right. Both David and Roger tried to pursue Syd's madness, in their own way. David - musical, Roger - lyrical. Both failed, but also captured This is why Division Belll sounds a lot like The Wall. David openly hates Roger, but down in his soul he admits Roger in his lyrical madness captured bit of Syd Roger openly hates David, but he puts Gilmour-like guitar solos on all his subsequent post-Floyd recordings, because he silently admits David is Barret's post-Floyd as much as he is Its almost perfect philosophical love-hate relationship

This is just freakin amazing.I am waiting for my box set to arrive. I will not be opening it until Christmas time since it is a present. This soundboard audio beats the heck out of the audience recorded piece of crap that was floating around.Don't get me wrong the band did a good job of performing.
