My dad was a MASSIVE Pink Floyd fan since day one. Comfortably Numb was his favourite. He passed away in June this year aged 75. We played this to him in hospital, even when he was unconscious as he could still hear. The lyrics are so poignant. We played it at his funeral also, as he requested. The second guitar solo piece was his favourite part and he always said ‘Brilliant’ every.single.time. That part always makes me cry. It’s Dads song ♥️

When I was in med school this song helped me make it through some of the toughest times including the death of my wife from cancer. By the time I graduated I had become so numb to pain and death that I was able to do my job without crying over how much the patient was suffering. First of all there are patient advocacy organizations that help with a lot of the logistics of being a cancer patients, many of these organizations are run by volunteers. Secondly I highly recommend you read a book called "many lives many masters" Most of the patients cant put the book down once they start reading it. You sound like you have reached the acceptance phase. I feel for you mate

I know we all have different perspectives of life and mostly depending on how our current experiences are treating us. With that being said. I sit here outside, it's 2:30 am.
