Question - Did Syd Barrett Sing, write or play guitar on Comfortably Numb ? Short answer NO. Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb ( original members ) is correct ! Gilmour, Waters , Mason, and Richard Wright either Sang, Wrote , or Played on this track. Had the title said Pink Floyd - Astronomy Domine with that track playing here it would have been wrong David Gilmour was not the original member that played on that song.

The last 3 minutes of the song are the absolute finest 3 minutes in music history. I remember, way back in the day when people had REAL stereo systems, my father would go help our friends and family set up their systems and this was the song my dad would play to make certain that the system was absolutely perfect with the true test of speaker quality, and volume, being the last 3 minutes of this song. There will never be anything like Pink Floyd again in my lifetime. Darkside of the Moon and The Wall will go down as two of the most influential albums in Rock history, if not music history. And The Pulse album has it's place as one of the most incredible live albums. Gilmour's guitar playing reaches to the deepest parts of your soul and lets it free. Waters, somehow knew what to say to us with his words(yes, I know that Gilmour wrote a lot of the music, but for me Waters lyrically touched my soul more). Richard Wright to me was the heart of the group.his smile from behind the keyboards was all you needed to see to know life was good. Nick Mason is never given enough credit for what he brought to the group and as a drummer. Last, but not least, their late and great leader Syd Barret. How wish he had been well enough to give us more of what was in his incredible mind.

The way Waters calls to Gilmour for a salute to the audience really shows how much he misses being a part of the band. Gilmour said Waters wanted to still have a say in what songs they would rehearse and play live together. After all these years he still wanted to be in command. Gilmour said Waters was a "guest" and would play what Rick, Nick and himself would like (Pink Floyd post Final Cut). You can see how much Waters enjoyed playing with them. It's crazy to see because he still has that feeling of superiority as he mouths the lyrics with Gilmour. Its just amazing to see that he has the same mentality after all these years yet truly wants to be a part of the band. The tension is phenomenal and without that mentality of Waters, we never would truly appreciate Floyd. Its that egotistical side that really created The Wall. Just sad to see it still prominent in his disposition. What a band. What a pleasure to live in this exact time of incredible music. Im 31 and wish I could have experienced this live. The emotion and passion is on another level. Roger and Dave really accentuated each other! Respect to Nick and Rick as well, Im sure it wouldnt be the same without any of them. Thanks guys for evoking such emotion in myself and many others! Just my pov 😎

i love hendrix, page, clapton and all the others, but when gilmour strikes his guitar it is as god strikes his hammer of lightning. best ever!

I FEEL Gilmour more on an emotional level not a showy one. No disrespect at all to those legends.
@adamknight70413 жыл бұрын
@@missdee4927 , Clapton brings the emotion too to be fair but I agree Gilmour is the GOAT from that point of view

David Gilmore has been underrated his entire career. On Rolling Stones too 100 greatest guitarists he places 14. Which is an absolute crime. Top 5 for sure. My list would be (5)Prince, (4)Clapton, (3)Gilmore, (2) Van Halen (1) Hendricks.

321gates I wouldn’t say it sucks but it lacks innovation and character. Last celebrity with any character or substance was eminem. People care too much these days it stops the magic of creation

In 1980 my buddy bought The Wall album and invited me over his house to listen to it. We smoked a joint layed on the floor between his two massive left and right speakers. I was 16 years old and from that moment on I looked at life in a whole different light. Thank god for great music!

September 2022 and the world is a mess but this masterpiece cuts right through all of it. The 4 men have given us all the proof that behind all the ugliness' there is this beauty that we have to dream of better times. Sadly we lost Richard but his contribution was immense. Thank you gents.
