Hey Dad, saw you smile when the concert promoter asked them "BTW, which one's Pink?" You weren't the first! LOL! 'Concept albums' like many of PF's, Yes, Beatles etc are best experience beginning to end. @ 12:18 you asked the meaning of the switch. That's Have A Cigar blending into the next song "Wish You Were Here". In fact, the switch is them listening to 'Cigar' on the radio and why the sound changed, then they switch stations to find another song that being the acoustic of Wish you Were Here, then they begin playing along with it. That's why all concept albums should be heard start to finish as intended to really appreciate the artform. One day when you have time and in the mood put in any of these albums and listen to it start to finish, and it will become so clear! ✌️😎

🤦🏿‍♀️ I feel old! 😁 We paid to see Laser shows to Floyd Albums at The Hayden Planetarium connected to the Museum of Natural History. Also Laser Zeppelin & Laser Beatles. 😂 Our version of today's virtual reality. During the day were school trips to the Museum then off to learn about Planets & The Galaxy at Jaden. 😎 But at night we'd hang in Central Park hoping to see John Lennon or somebody famous go in to the Dakota where he lived (and was shot outside of). Then head off for 7:30 Laser Floyd show. 😁 Awesome memories! 🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny

Some trivia: This song is sung by neither David Gilmour nor Roger Waters. They were dissatisfied with both of their voices on this song, so they had a guest sing it. The guy singing is a friend of theirs by the name of Roy Harper.

When you listen to Pink Floyd albums like say Dark Side of The Moon, you have to listen to the whole album all the way through. Pink Floyd, like the Beatles created concept albums where the ending of one song leads into the next.

If youve never reacted to the band Jethro Tull, they are a progressive rock juggernaut. Great rock flute amd range. "Locomotive breath", "aqualung" and "thick as a brick" are normally the gateway songs but they have many "enchanted" or "fantastical" songs , medieval or classical or inspired by nature. More of an album band than a singles band. If you ever want a "deep cut" recommendation id go with "living in the past".

F. . you can't dance to their music, disco ball in all concerts after 1984. look at 1982 P.F. album cover " Pink Floyd's favorite dance music. Song drops the front channel. when i heard it for the first time i thought my stereo lost the front speakers, but it goes into the next song " wish you where here' with just the back channel with the acoustic guitar then a second comes in giving you front channel.

🤷🏿‍♀️ Which is why your next Floyd MUST be "Pulse" Live Comfortably Numb. 🙄😏 Although Im partial to Echoes Live at Pompeii. 😒 Floyd in their 20's with Roger Waters on Bass. And the 🎥 cinematography is epic. Alone in the Greek Amphitheater in Pompeii with just the crew to record. 😚 And did I mention their all shirtless. Filming by a 🌋 Volcano is hot! 😊🐰

Try "Dogs," from their next (following Wish You Were Here) album, Animals. There are some amazing, deep layers of keyboard & synthesizer sounds, in the middle of the song. Rippling textures, synth drones, a giant-sounding drum, & a twisty, snarly synth lead too!

After Dark Side of the Moon, they had no problem selling out concerts. The song Money skyrocketed them into the stratosphere and tickets sold like candy! Dark side, start to finish is a great listen, most would say, the best listen of all time. If you do Comfortably Numb live, it would be smart to do the studio version first to REALLY GET IT. Best to listen to THE WALL first too. Another concept album. Floyd isn’t a “singles” band, they are a concept band. You’re only looking at puzzle pieces when you do them one song at a time.

To be blown away, check out the 1994 Pulse concert, songs: SORROW HIGH HOPES LEARNING TO FLY COMING BACK TO LIFE COMFORTABLY NUMB David Gilmour makes you FEEL every note he plays on the guitar and the silky vocals are unmatched! You should just let this track carry on as it transitions into the title song Wish You Were Here. That's why it suddenly goes mono - the transition is someone changing stations on a radio. BTW, the vocals are by Roy Harper as guest.

Yea it sounded like that. I imagined it was the purity of the music being cut in half by the record company. How they sometimes altered the potency and beauty of the artist by there influence.
