Gilmour doesn't appear much in any of these early (1968) videos. My guess is that the band's production asked the filmmakers and TV companies to avoid him in order not to make obvious the absence of Barrett, who was the creative mind and leading force of the group at the time. In other words, publicity reasons.

Early Floyd is best! There was a nice melodic JAM from the COMMITTEE LP that reminded me of a long lost Floyd song that I heard on the radio 32 years ago. It was about 5 minutes long, upbeat and had a baroque-like keyboard ,with a sound similar to THIS song,and a trippy guitar solo with few lyrics. Does anyone know what this song's title might be?

There are more early videos of Pink Floyd than I would ever have expected to find on KZbin. It's interesting to see the different performances of tracks like this one both before and after Syd's ejection from the band. Here, they don't seem comfortable with the playing - it only begins to come together in the last minute or so. And I still keep expecting to see Syd on stage with them ...

I saw them live in 1968 for the first time, then again in 1969 and for the last time in 1971 when they showcased Meddle before its release. So glad I got to see them in quite small venues before the mega rise to fame and popularity after the release of DSOTM.

@@chateaupig826 I think I was fortunate to have been born when I was as I was old enough to experience the explosion in music in the 60's and early 70's. Got to see Led Zeppelin in 1969 before the release of their second album but to be honest they were not very good. David Bowie before hardly anyone bothered with him. Elton John, just him, a piano and bass and drums before he became that clown. Even saw Black Sabbath before they released their first album. So yes, I feel very lucky.

My first thought is that this sounds like just the introduction to a longer piece which is foreshadowed during the last minute. Here in New Zealand we never got to see stuff like this. First I saw Pink Floyd would have been a movie theatre screening of Live at Pompeii.
