RECIPE - Cold process Soap
OIL FAZE
700g. (24.6oz) Olive Oil (19.44%)
1000g (35.2oz) Sunflower (27.78%)
800g (28.2oz) Coconut Oil (22.22%)
800g (28.2oz) Palm Oil. (22.22%)
150g (5.2oz) Cocoa Butter. (4.17%)
150g (5.2oz) Shea Butter (4.17%)
WATER FAZE
524g (18.4oz) Sodium Hydroxide
700g (24.6oz) Distilled Water (if making simply for home use and not to sell, tap water will do fine)
You can increase your water content up to 1171g (41oz) if you prefer.

The gingerbread men are adorable, I definitely liked the white on them better. I think brown gingerbread men would be better though. It was interesting to see how you made your lye solution, I always thought it came in a liquid form to start with (keeping in mind that I am not a soap maker). Great video 👍

I have a heat safe wide mouth screw top bottle that you don’t have to worry about. Some of the bottles are made with materials that release invisible toxic fumes sine they are made to hold dry, not hot particles

great video - this might help you I saw on bramble berry where they took a dropper and put the white soap in the mold BEFORE they poured the body in - so you dont have to paint or pipe - check out their gingerbread man video - love your beautiful soap

Great tip in mixing the titanium dioxide with water so you can paint. You mentioned that mixing it with alcohol doesn’t work since it won’t stick. Can I mix water with my micas and paint on my soap that way?

Titanium dioxide won’t mix into alcohol. Mica won’t mix into water. 🙃 you have to use alcohol to paint with micas, tho I have seen soap makers use oil to make a mica drizzle for their soap as a decoration.

There isn't a limit persay, but you will not need any more than 10% (some fragrances you can only add 5% because of how the wax molecules hold fragrance, but these are very few in number). You will know if you have added too much fragrance oil to wax because your wax will be a little soft after it has dried. When you buy candle wax there should be a description on how much fragrance to add and same with fragrance oils, there will be a suggested % to add to the wax.

It can create a lye volcano which is a very dangerous thing to have happen without a ventilation hood and full-body protective equipment.
