Pink Salmon From the Old Town Kayak Area 8-2 8/8/2023

Picked up a quick limit of pink salmon this morning before work. Fished area 8-2 just off the Mukilteo lighthouse. Missed a couple, lost one, but limited in less than two hours. Always a good time!
All fish hit at approximately 33' actual depth. Trolling between 2.2 - 2.6 mph.
Shortbus 360 flasher, Master Baiter color and a Brad's Superbait Cut Plug in Black Jack color.

I just started using the mini cut plugs out there. They are working FIRE. What are you scenting them with?

Yeah, my buddy uses the Kokanee cut plugs and has great success. I scent the base of my flasher with herring scent and load up the cut plug with canned tuna in oil.

What rod are you using? I've been having a hard time detecting bites when using a downrigger from my kayak, and I'm wondering if my rod is to blame

Couple of questions... where do you launch? Is there a reason you don't run 2 rods at the same time?

1. Mukilteo Lighthouse park boat launch. 2. In most all of the puget sound (perhaps all) you are only permitted one rod per angler per regulations.

Yes, a 6lb downrigger ball using a cannon uni-troll downrigger.

Hola, thanks a lot for sharing, I'll give it a try tomorrow. Will be my first time fishing for Salmon from the Yak. I do not have a downrigger but I'll give it a try anyway :).

It worked!!! trolling with snap weights targeting 30 feet deep and got my first pink salmons !! :)
