The only thing missing from this saga was that one time one lady bought pink sauce, took it to a lab to get it examined and found dangerous ingredients in the contents. The pink sauce lady then took this woman on live TV and tried to gaslight her into thinking that what she was exposing was wrong and how she was evil. She even had the gall to “forgive her” for what she was doing. This woman deserves no sympathy. She’s a narcissist, who took no responsibility for what she did. I just want to say because this is a bit from the fda approval section of the video, the fda does NOT have any approval process for food. The approval process for food does not exist and only exists for medical products. You only need fda approval if you invent a new ingredient which she likely was using already approved ingredients from off the shelf. Not a single restaurant, vendor or grocery store has items that you can find with a stamp of fda approval because it does not exist for these type of products.

Pink is the most disgusting and unlikely food color and hence the irony and the humor - it was a good idea in a way, for that reason only. Correction: raw honey will NOT cause botulism. Having raw honey mixed with something else, especially something that contains water, MIGHT and WILL. Honey BY ITSELF is an antiseptic and antimicrobic (thats why honey doesnt spoil). But thats because its CONCENTRATED. As soon as you mix it with anything else, especially water (even ambient water in the air, humidity), it just becomes sugar water: the perfect growing medium for anything that barely survived the strong antiseptic, aka the worst shit you can ingest.

While this isn't meant to contradict your assertion about honey, I don't think sugar water is in and of itself necessarily the 'perfect growing medium'. When I make simple syrup, which is usually just ¼ cup sugar in ¼ cup boiling water, it's typically shelf stable for at least a couple weeks. I have some I made last week sitting on the countertop right now. I have occasionally seen what I assume to be bacterial growth appear after several weeks but that's usually after it gets contaminated by a gnat flying into it or something. I don't think Starbucks ever refrigerates their simple syrup but I'm pretty sure there's all kinds of preservatives in that. But then again there's not really any way for bacteria to get into their bottles so maybe not.

Sugar is quirky: high concentrated sugar kills everything. but unfortunateky its highly water soluble, it binds veeery readily with water, even ambient. luckly this process is slow for humidity. Now, if you mix syrup (be it high corn fructose or something more natural, any concentrated sugar really) and boiled water (sterile), in a closed container, of course nothing will grow easely! I should have specified i meant when honey is mixed with ambient water or normal water in a way that introduces bacteria with that mixing. Honey plus distilled or boiled water in a close container is going to be more shelf stable than an open container. Considering the conditions this 'sauce' is made, packaged and shipped, its safe to assume the worst scenario applies there XD

I have a theory on this. In the original video before she offered it for sale to the public, the sauce looks exactly like pepto-bismol, the color, consistency is spot on, it was right after people started asking for it that its color and consistency changed in the video's. I think this all started with this women trying to do something that would make her stand out amongst other cooks video's on social media, not long before she did this there was the whole ny-quil chicken meme recipe going around online, I think she literally just put pepto on some fried chicken and said hey look at the new sauce I created, I'm such a talented chef, I got it looking like this with no preservatives or food coloring, and it taste great. After that she went about trying to create a pink sauce that looked like the pepto she dumped on her chicken without using food coloring, thats why she called it a concept and not a finished product. Funny thing is, the final product is light salmon pink, runny, nothing like pepto and probably taste like shit, I will never know because there are more than enough dipping sauce choices at this point to need to find out and Ive got a hunch trying to replicate the look of pepto rather than focusing on combining good flavors, isn't going to make for great tasting sauce.

@@zoulzopan depending on your country/state the law does not require all this stuff (although large-scale productions will probably always benefit from it) - this was all stuff that Walmart themselves demanded from the company in order to validate their year-on-year contract. I can not personally say if they demand the same things from _all_ manufacturers. If your company makes hard candies or something without perishable ingredients it might be less restrictive. To be fair it was a pretty large company with very high-volume output, but there are definitely places where you can make stuff in your garage and sell it in local grocery stores so long as you have all ingredients, nutritional info, production dates and allergen warnings on the product (the basic necessities). Even if re-sellers are not liable vis-a-vis courts or insurance, for someone like Walmart the damage to their reputation in the case of a scandal is reason enough.

@@zaruuchshekel5806 it is light pink when you mix ketchup with mayonaise, if you want more pink color than add some oyster sauce and chili powder..it cost you only 1.5$ for 1 bottle(500g), and you can sell it in local neighborhood for 3-4$.

In the UK we've actually a name for that sauce, Marie Rose sauce.

I think the color change due to its being in acid environment. Even synthetic colors can change in different ph. Then you have garlic and protein (milk). Its possible she use Lycopene (red coloring in fruits) which is a hydrocarbon, the enzymes and acid (sour) environment will just break the bonds. Basically burn it like sugar and turn brown. Its oil soluble so it can also separate from the sauce.

the problem with selling bright pink sauce in US is another product you are all familiar with, pepto bismol.

I mean, pink sauce originally had a rotting issue, then she tried to blast a company for not paying her and it was revealed that they paid her plenty, she then got pissed that they would buy buy her a dress which they had no reason or obligation to at all and then claimed that the large amount paid to her was used on rent which was an asinine statement because even if she was in a hotel room of high quality and price she would still have had plenty left over so she was clearly lying about where the money went that she originally claimed she never received but changed her statement once it was exposed that not only was she paid the amount they agreed upon but also another amount over the agreed upon price. She is not good in terms of business and is a liar so I am not surprised it failed, why would anyone want to buy a sketchy product made by a person proven to be a lair.
