The horse meat scandal does make me laugh. In the UK, there are a lot of people who are upset that horses are in food and only European eat horses as we're cultured. But if they do their history, after WWII the British Army had a surplus of horses, which was brought about by the government buying every single horse in the UK to help fight the war. No horse was spared, they took pets, work horses, anything as long as it could be used in the war. So all these horses had nothing to do, they couldn't sell the horses back to the owners. So, with the end of the war, europe had a large shortage of food. The UK sent all their horses to europe to feed the hungry.

In our system not every coupon is listed and as such the policy for that is that a manager just needs to edit the price to fit the advertised price (not including tax), so this was pretty believable when you consider just how things work. Now that's not to say it's a 100% work every time type deal, but it certainly runs a good chance of working sometimes, especially if you're busy. We do keep the coupons however and deposit them with a receipt into a safe for the General Manager to review later, so it's not like we wouldn't find out it's a fake later lol.

I think the biggest issue is that people who run companies dont understand the internet. They think 50 comments is representative feedback, rather than just 50 random angry morons since most sane people just laugh at the tweet and move on....
@TheRealRealMClovin7 ай бұрын
I have seen way worse advertisments than this. This list was mild and just mostly people being sensitive and mad like usual. I have literally seen a tv commercial with a black man in basically "poorman" clothes being put into a washing machine by some ladies and they say "Let's clean him up and make him handsome" The man later comes out of the washing machine being now white and having a costume. To be fair this was an asian commercial so not suprised it did not become a big deal since they don't have this woke, PC and cancel culture like we have in the west.

@gregbrown88817 ай бұрын
I remember years ago a company called easyhome had a huge sale on rental furniture, and they covered all their windows with signage for the sale. This signage had different emojis and internet acronyms scattered all over it, like "LOL", "OMG", etc. Well, one of the terms they used was "OMFG". I just stood there thinking about how someone was about to lose their job, when one of the employees came out with a flyer in his hand. He asked if I wanted to take a look around inside, but I just looked at the flyer, and, sure enough, in one of the upper corners there was a speech bubble with "OMFG" written in it. I pointed to the bubble and asked, "You know what the "F" stands for, right?" He looked at it, looked at me, then looked back to the ad. Then I showed him how it was also all over the windows, to which he yelled "People can see this!" and then ran back inside. I went by there again 2 days later, and all the signage was gone lol.

@@IsaacMSingleton1 It's not about me being offended. Maybe you just haven't noticed his, but most companies don't go around using the "F" word (known to some as "fuck"). When you're trying to maintain a certain level of professionalism, that is not a good way to go about it.
