What I find so supricing is how they just called the past 6 year of latin american economy very neoliberal. South american countries have huge governments, at least those that still can afford to have one, and employ everything under the state. Many countries also have extremely restrictive and unstable financial markets. None of those are at all in line with neoliberalism.
@transsylvanian9100

Complete nonsense. The only countries that have thrown off the neoliberal yoke in Latin America are Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Bolivia, and they have all been targeted for regime change one or multiple times by the US. The US will not abide by any Latin American government that actually tries to take care of its people and not the profits of US corporations.

Also Columbia is the US/private military hub for South America. Blackwater aka Xe Services shipped out FARC gurelas to yemen, because Saudia Arabia bought more US weapons than they could handle. The drone assasination attempt on Madero was also out of Columbia. the US military the uses 7 existing bases in Colombia. These Bases include 2 naval bases: Cartagena and Tolemaida, 3 air force bases: Malambo, Palanquero, and Apiay and 2 army bases: Larandia and Tolemaida.

While the massive inequality in Colombia is a massive issue that the ruling parties have failed to address in Colombia, I’m not sure that is is necessarily the right direction. Voting in an ex rebel president who is not pro business, and a female Vice President who’s main draw is the color of her skin and who has only focused her career in pushing an identity politics agenda is troubling. Colombia with all its flaws has been the most stable economy in Latin america, while all other nations have had massive instability usually brought in by “leftists” who end up being as corrupt as their counterparts but more inept at running a country.

Francia Marquez's main draw is her advocacy against illegal Gold-Mining and destruction of some of the poorest communities in El Choco; Identity politics sucks, but don't mistake authentic representation of marginalized, subaltern communities for cynical, vacuous virtue signalling -- she is not Kamala Harris.

Colombia is a US colony, a murderous, brutal puppet regime that abuses its people on a daily basis, where the US trains death squads and mercenaries to destabilize the rest of the region. It is the worst place in all of Latin America. Also "pro-business" is just a euphemism for a corrupt neoliberal US puppet who keeps the people poor while enriching corporations.

I wanted to slap the Ryan who was trying, but probably just ignorant. He used the term “totalitarian right.” 🤮 To even say “Fascist Right” or “Totalitarian Right” is a concession to leftist dialogue. Fascism is really synonymous with socialism which - yes - is to the right of communism, but still on the far left. The truly conservative “Right” supports constitutionally limited government that empowers the people to hold government accountable and prevent the people from becoming slaves of the state. The true “Right” that wants to live in freedom needs to get to work in education to reduce ignorance concerning the political spectrum. Too many people think the options are “totalitarian or fascist right,” which sounds terrifying but it’s really a lie, or “leftist communism” which effectively isn’t any different. But democratic constitutionally limited government is also an option, but kept out of the discussion because the “Left” is controlling the discussion.

Mexico & Portugal. Mexico, now has less gun deaths than the US (yes including cartel violence, which has also decreased since legalizing marijuana use). Mexico is also working on building national light rail public transportation. Mexico also recently nationalized a rare earth metal reserve which will be extremely important for green energy. Portugal virtually eradicated their drug abuse problem with their leftist policies. There's a lot to learn from these places.
