Why is Africa turning away from the United States? | The Bottom Line

Officials in the United States look upon Africans as people “in need of help” or people who “need to be told what to do”, and this is destroying relations between Africa and Washington, according to the former African Union representative to the US, Arikana Chihombori-Quao.
“The US needs to call a timeout and treat Africans with respect,” Chihombori told host Steve Clemons, adding that the US-Africa Leaders Summit hosted by the White House this week “will fail unless Americans see Africans as equals".
Chihombori-Quao argues that pan-African unity is the only path for the continent to be less dependent on outside powers.

China has allot of surplus goods for building their help is good in that sense and convenient for them. But just like Afghanistan, Africa needs to be at a certain level of development to be able to comfortably implement our structuring, technology, efficiency and stability otherwise our help and supplies would be sold off or stolen for basic needs usually ending up in criminal hands. Look at Japan and south Korea, that should be the motivation Africans need. Currently their problem is basic things like food, housing, and education which should be a simple enough basic requirement. They need to suck it up and work hard to be proud Africans and stay away from the ulterior motives of countries with get rich quick schemes. They will take away your freedoms... I hope Africans wont have to learn the hard way.

I am Eritrean African and so proud to hear this kind of heart filling discussion that tells the world that Africans are not going to tolerate the discrimination that is showed and experiencing African. The game is changing. But my advice and wish for African leaders and African people is, we don't have to stop thinking that, by our own we can do a good things if wake up and do our efforts to do better. Africa is providing food to Europeans but still suffering in hunger in our Africa. Therefore, let's do a special effort to make new Africa, educationally and economically. We shouldn't be an instruments to the outsiders to exploit us. I warn to the outsiders living in Africa which litting fire within African to exploit the resources of the land. Exactly why i enjoy my day to day market decisions being guided by a portfolio-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/ analvsis they have, it's near impossible to not outperform, been using a portfolio-coach for over 2years+ and I've netted over 400k.

The US cannot possibly repair all the damage that it has already done to African nations by staging coups against their governments and plundering their rich natural resources for their own gain. This is why they have a much stronger trust with Russia and China (who has no such dark history) than the US. Any attempt Biden will make to try to patch up old wounds will only be a waste of his and America's time.

The issue is not the failure to understand the fact that they need Africa, (it should not even be what affords Africans respect), the issue is the wickedness in them. Same as the idea of turning other human beings into slaves, subhumans... that was not due to any lack of understanding, it stemmed from the wickedness of their hearts. Thank God that they also die like every other human being... The pioneers of slavery thought they would live eternally... well, here we are, the world still exists with new humans, the muh#@$ are dead! This world needs humans who love each other regardless of race, religion and all else.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The world needs to know this too. Africa will not be the last one on the list when everyone needs Africa's resources to keep their country running. Slavery is over and the atrocities which the African people in their home land and abroad must be addressed by the colonizer if a new road must be forged ahead. This is the greatest problem facing these colonizers, addressing their horrific past atrocities imposed on all Africans. The history of violence is very long and bitter, one which must totally stop if Africans are to work with their oppressors. Address their wrong which they've improved if restitution must be made, do it or leave the African alone!

s, however , if she thinks JOE'S WORD is any good, she's going to be deceived; just guessing on that .\ Hope she can introduce the birth control pill while Howdy Doody sends our money to Africa? YES, BE CARFUL OF the new Howdy Doody Administration though. I hope she's not the "mother with 39 children" asking for help for her unemployed children in Africa and can support birth control for all? oh, so THAT'S why Joe finally was able to read his teleprompter during his SPEECH TWO WEEKS AGO? In which he announced he's sending 150 billion to AFRICA ? Should a figured that out, but he'd just returned from Haiti, so he keeps us wondering about which country he's going to bs next? We KNEW he's be "expecting something in return ?" You know if Howdy Doody starts WW3 , he can stay in his "assigned position" as a war president-then run tohis bunker why Pfizer sells us his new radiation pills ? ? Yes, well done journalist. He, and another older white lady who did a segment on Haiti, are only a handful who get it and do proper journalism/interviews. The European ones are condescending, often come to interviews with their own talking points and don't deviate, and they interrupt their interviewees a lot, not to mention they also going on the attack when they feel they are losing control. I invite you to look at those interviews done by European journalists of Prez Paul Kagame.
