Hi Guys, I got question! Are these trails (stages) in zermatt are official mountainbike trails, or are they hiking trails just closed for the ews event? So I am curious, wether you can ride them as normal biker right after the race?

In Switzerland, unless a trail is otherwise signposted, you can ride hiking trails. Just don't be a d*&k when doing it and there are hikers around!

Why would they not run stage 3 all the way down to the valley. Leaving 1000m of desent for the traverse seems like a bit of a waste

Not EWS worthy tracks! The best mob riders of the world needs to be challenged. An xc rider could ride this.

I've raced an XC bike in the Zermatt area, yes 'raced', I can tell you these trails are quite a few steps harder than the trails I was on. There's a huge difference between riding and racing on this landscape.
