EWS Zermatt Full Highlights 2019 - Round 8

It’s been said before, but the final round of the 2019 Enduro World Series was one for the history books.
Round eight, Traillove EWS Zermatt, lined up the perfect showdown high on Zermatt’s mountain sides beneath the shadow of the Matterhorn. Florian Nicolai took to the start line the series leader by the slimmest of margins, a mere 60 points. Chasing him down would be that most intimidating of opponents, reigning champion Sam Hill - and the result would not be decided until the very final stage of the day.

What a season of EWS! It seems like when Sam really need to win, he puts in another gear and smashes everyone else. With all the things that gone wrong for him this season, like sickness, puncture and missing a gondola, he really showed those champion qualities thats required to take the win. GOAT Dh & Enduro!

Next season is going to be nuts! Hill, Maes, Rude, Nicolai, Masters (Eddie) and Oton as well as new generation Dailly, Melemed, Miquel and Gauvin who have been consistent.

I feel the same but it is what it is and Maes is young. It broke my heart when the ruling came out but tbh it made for an epic season and I feel very confident that Martin will go on to be a dominant figure in the sport setting marks that will last for years, maybe decades.

Man, fantastic season. Great to see a sport where there's real competitive balance: Maes, Richie Rude, Eddie Master and Sam Hill can win on any given day. Florian and Melamed will be in the mix next year too. Wide open field, just hope everyone stays healthy and clean. Women could ahem, use a bit more of that, but I can see ALN and Noga Karem making it more interesting next year.

It must be pretty hard to celebrate the results when this year was marred by such a royal goof up by the sanctioning body. I can't help but feel by Hill's words about the title that he doesn't feel completely proud of this one, which is a shame because considering his circumstances entering the season he rode great all year.

The single most off-putting things about watching this is the bloody awfull music - so not needed. It does nothing to enhance the visual experience of seeing these top-class athletes in action. The producer needs sacked.
