Are we reaching a point where trail bikes are just so well dialed that they are converging in ability? The Specialized, Scor and Propain all seem to be master of all points, with very few limitations.

So if I get this bike with the 150mm Lyrik I'd have a 150-140 bike. If I was planning a trip to a bikepark, could I put a 170mm air shaft in the Lyrik, change the adjustment in the head tube and the shock and have a 170-160 Enduro bike? If that's the case I think it was worth mentioning in the review!

It's nice to see RockShox suspension. It seems like everyone switched to Fox for some reason which sucks cause RockShox is better (in my opinion).
@LastAphelion2 жыл бұрын
How come? I've always heard reviewers (all of them, every single one, after I scour dozens of channels trying to check for biases or trends before I buy a bike) sell out for Fox always describing it as "having the extra sauce, feeling that much more like a magic carpet ride" than rockshox, going so far out of their way to buy a brand new bike and swap the rockshocks out for new fox suspension. So I'm always left wondering in disbelief if rockshocks is just not that good, are these guys super picky, and/or just getting paid by fox?
@pedalingpapa62862 жыл бұрын
@@LastAphelion I think this is a two fold deal. Rockshox forks and shocks both have a ton of aftermarket upgrade options. Fox does as well, but I see a lot more rockshox guys have these upgrades on their bikes. That tells me the the upgrades are needed more on rockshox products. The other thing I think fox does better is their marketing. Better marketing makes people want to buy their product more, even if it’s an equal to rockshox.

@@alanbonk3542 the Trailbikes were around 20% slower. If its the same track with the same lenght ect. it shows imo that youre right and the tires make a much bigger difference that weight ect. Everything functions properly kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Nothing was damaged in the box aside from a decal on the fork. The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of KZbin. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!

@pinkbike - I wonder if Alicia would pick this bike or the propain Hugene as her 1st choice in this grouping? The mud collecting would suck for Vermont riding.
@alicialeggett18312 жыл бұрын
Hey Eric! If this bike didn't have the gritty hole of doom, it would be a winner for me. I had such a great time on it, I like the adjustable geo, and it's just such an impressive first (ish) bike from SCOR. Sadly, the mud situation is a dealbreaker. I want a bike that's easy to maintain, so even though the Propain has 100000 pivots, it's a better overall system than the SCOR for anyone who rides in the wet. Though SCOR's downtube storage and spare derailleur hanger is a nice touch. The Propain climbs a little better than the SCOR but the SCOR is a better descender... I think the Propain comes out on top, but not by much.
@socketr8er2 жыл бұрын
As an owner of the SCOR 4060 ST, I can confirm that rear shock is a terrible mud collecting construction. So hard to clean. It is a bit a letdown in an otherwise truly fantastic and really good looking bike.

@@alicialeggett1831 - Thanks for the quick reply. I'm more of a climber than a descender so for the trails I ride in Vermont the Hugene sounds like a great bike. Love the Pinkbike bike reviews. The type of content is great.
