OMG Pink Floyd has to be the most trippy/stoned music group in history, up to and including The Final Cut. Some years ago i would light up one and turn on an album of the Floyd... and go completely out of my mind. Music before my time but completely relevant when you want to use drugs !!!

I've read that David was embarrassed by this, but I can't imagine. I'm my own worst critic, so I understand, but I've loved this song since the first time I heard it...the vocals are ethereal, the reverb is perfect for the song, and I've always thought this song was like a precursor to "Echoes". A VERY good thing!

A shit load of lyrics and songs were just mind blowing when high..I took mushrooms more than acid as they grew everywhere in my town in the mild wet days before winter.. Ive some of the most craziest of incidents that happened when on shrooms..Its weird how those things always seemed to happen when you were tripping, like watching some totally random thing happen but also the flip side, like walking into the middle of an army night exercise when tripping and camping...happy days my dude lol.

@@anthonyangelis1094 it's an experimental live show they did in 1969, it was originally gonna be an official album but they decided not to and did Ummagumma instead. There are a few recordings of the shows on KZbin but they officially released the Albert Hall performance on the Early Years Box Set, specifically the 1969 volume. It consists mostly of songs from More, ASOS, some material that ended up on UG, etc. Also contains recordings of the band doing performance art during the show, including having tea and building a table. Weird stuff but fascinating too.

“The Narrow Way” is a section on the studio half of Pink Floyd’s fourth album Ummagumma. It is a three-part song written and performed entirely by David Gilmour, using multiple overdubs to play all the instruments himself. It is a three-part composition with only the third part comprising lyrics. These lyrics are the first David Gilmour wrote for Pink Floyd.
@nickhirst9992 жыл бұрын
@@luvwings Yes indeed. Ummagumma was the first PF album I ever owned. I asked my parents for it for Christmas 1977 when I was 8! Still got that copy but it got a little worn from being played on a Dansette! I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with my "Pass the tequila" reference. David's first writing credit with PF is "A Spanish Piece" from the "More" album in which he does an amusing impersonation of a deranged Spaniard. It sounds like an improvised joke so I don't think it would count as being lyric writing!
