Excerpted from Pink Martini's live concert at Edgefield in Portland, "Over the Valley" is a Pink Martini original song, with lyrics inspired by the view from China Forbes's home. It first appeared on the band's fourth studio album Splendor in the Grass. Filmed on a rainy day in September 2021, soon after the band started touring again after a long hiatus during quarantine, this performance features lead singer China Forbes, violinist Nicholas Crosa, and bandleader/pianist Thomas Lauderdale, a peaceful moment from an epic 3-hour concert that was also broadcast to the band's fans online.
