yeah even if an artist is allowed to make what they want, if the Drum & Bass/Garage sound is what pulled people into listening to her, abandoing the sound could easily alienate her fans and it has been shown some artists who did sell out and made other styles, were later dropped from major labels because they didn't sell. Ironically some Drum & Bass artists who did sell out suffered from this fate.

I mostly agree with her that her popularity is more to do with her voice than her beats. But when she say that DnB/Jungle has been around forever, that's only really true for the UK and some of Europe. Here in the US, DnB/Jungle never really caught on outside of a couple major cities, so for most people here it's actually a fairly novel sound.

@@Alex-ms1tt Agreed. I'm a zoomer who's been into DnB/Jungle since ~2013 despite living in Texas all my life (praise the YT algorithm for that lol), and I really like what PinkPantheress is doing. She's not my absolute favorite artist since I'm generally more into Darkside Jungle, Foghorn DnB, Drumfunk, etc., but the soft/melodic pop aspects of her music are well done and represent a fairly fresh take on the genre. Really my only complaint with her so far is that as someone who also DJs as a hobby, it would be nice to get some extended mixes of her songs, since ~2 minutes isn't much to work with lol.
