I think the producers were too cheap to hire real English actors for the voices. I think they chose some Canadian actors and then asked one to try a scouse accent for Ringo. I’m American born and bred. Cartoon John, Paul, and George almost sound American but not quite. That’s why I think they might be Canadian. But none are true British.

Loved the Beatles cartoons as a kid on TV Saturdays & later shown early mornings during the week. It didn’t matter that the voices didn’t sound exactly like the real Beatles-they did their personalities pretty good w/humor. The episodes were colorful & the sing along songs were great even though the Beatles songs were edited they still sounded good. In the original broadcasts they also had filler Beatle cartoon inserts in between the episode’s. The Opening & closing credits were perfect. Thanks for the upload.

We used to see these cartoons in Venezuela in the mid 60's but these cartoons were never shown in England. In the early 80's they were shown again and I managed to record some of them in Betamax, which I later showed my son in the the early 90's as a young little boy. He was so enthusiastic, he used to take my electric guitar and sing A hard day's night. John's voice is extremely posh and George speaks with a German accent. Nonetheless extremely happy to see Beatles cartoons again

By the end of March 1973, all military missions were stopped. By then my platoon had lost 12, almost half of our platoon. I read in “We All Shine On” by Elliot Mintz that Elliot and John stopped in the middle a road trip to go to McDonalds and Elliot and John were waiting in the parking lot and John asked if they could trade seats (Elliot was in the driver’s seat) and Elliot hesitated, knowing John wasn’t a good driver but gave in and said yes. John did indeed try to drive the car around the parking lot, taking sharp turns from left to right and nearly crashing the car at some points. Elliot even got slammed into the passenger door. Finally, they skidded to a stop and John said something like “thanks.” And they traded seats back.

@@C.O.G. I’m sure there were dozens of Beatles tribute bands by 1967, when this was made. Why on earth would such an obvious way to make money as a musician not occur to people in the 60s? The original cartoon used original Beatles records, but this upload has replaced a few of them due to copyright strikes. The version of Penny Lane included here, for example, isn’t the Beatles. I’m pretty sure it’s a recent live performance by Paul McCartney and his touring band.

I remember the day John was killed. I lived with my military father who commanded 10,000 troops. He woke me as usual with flashing room light and loud voice “get up” but that day it was different. He had an extra pep in his step , more energy. As I was yawning he asked me if I knew who died last night ?? Idk ??? He said John Lennon. I didn’t know who John Lennon was . As I ate my cereal my father was screaming at the tv , ABC’s good morning America . My father never engaged with tv , never. . He was talking back to it. Saying , “he should have been shot he was a communist” . That day in liberal 6th grade in Windsor , Connecticut my home room class was discussing John . Everyone was sad and boo hoo. And I said out loud , “he should have been shot he was a communist” and the reaction,,, hell , it makes me tear up as a 55 yr old now remembering that day ,,, the way that teacher and my classmates looked at me was ,,, I knew I was wrong when I said it. … damn. They hated me the rest of the semester. For the first time in my life , I realized my father wasn’t telling me the truth. That freaking hurt. I remember that first song I heard on the radio that morning. Strawberry fields forever ,, They played Beatles all day. Everywhere you heard Beatles music playing . Didn’t get into Beatles music until college and smoking weed. Then I realized why my USA army father hated John.

I know that they were voice character actors (not the Beatles voices) but really, is that the closest that they could get to George's voice? Still it's great to see and hear the Beatles songs with animated video backing. Some of the video backings are quite good, like the video for Eleanor Rigby. I love the opening sequence where the Beatles unplug their guitars and drums from stage electricity sockets. Someone's idea of an electric guitar I assume. It was a very early copy of a Beatles cartoon when we were kids in the 60s Look at the Jackson 5 cartoons saying cartoonist different voices

That's because renowned cartoon voice actor Paul Frees voiced John Lennon. It sounds similar to the voice he used for Inspector Fenwick in "Dudley Do-Right" and Chief Double-Q in "Secret Squirrel". I can spot Paul Frees's voices pretty easily. He also voiced George Harrison, but doing a weird vaguely Peter Lorre-ish voice.

I noticed that the first time I ever watched this cartoon show. The Beatles hated this and kept it off British television.

@@David-yw2lv Yep. The actual Beatles hated that cartoon at first because it made them look silly and was largely just the Americans cashing in on their success.
