To be honest, I'm not that much of a fan that they moved the sound editing feature from the video clip where you can just click on a couple spots to adjust the sound however you need it. Sorry, I was referring to 20 Ultimate, my bad.

Yeah at least for basic levels, I had to teach myself. All I had to do for one of the older ones is click on the volume line in say a couple of places and I could adjust it on the fly in any way I saw fit.

Thank you for your video tutorials. Do you have an export tutorial that discusses the advanced export settings more in-depth? What is the "Always re-encode entire movie" option about? What does it mean to do so or not? Like if I have exported my movie once already and am going to export it again with all the same export options except for a different Peak bitrate or a different size, do I re-encode? Does my video quality take a hit if I choose not to re-encode? Is the time to complete the entire export process less or more when re-encoding?

I wonder if the export function in v21includes any improvements over v19 in the processing, or if it's merely a new user interface. The problem I am having with exporting is the same as many other users have, i.e. the export stops at some place saying "Export process has experienced problem with the timeline....". I know all the well-meant advice like "make sure no gap is between scenes", avoid transitions etc.. I followed all these recommendation, to no avail, the export just stops at 00:01:08:21. I started playing around with the export options in the Control Panel, tried all percentages of the optimization threshold, no success. I actually wonder why this programme provides you with hundreds of transitions, effects, montages etc., yet is incapable of processing them properly into a viewable movie. Any transition going beyond a standard fade/dissolve/push just ends in a black screen in the export process. If you know how to fix these errors I am happy to hear/read it. If you have the same issues you find at least some consolation by seeing that you are not the only one.

Burning a disc has three choices at the bottom of the screen. 1. Create Disc Image 2. Burn Disc 3. Burn Image. Not sure if I have the correct call out for. I selected number 1 and I think I should have selected #2. It is taking a long time (3.5 hours and only 10% done) The movie is about 60 minutes long. Would it have gone faster if I would have selected #2? Want is the recommend method to burn to a Blu Ray disc once in the Export tab?

When I export my movie, it renders perfect when I play it back when I'm choosing a theme & inserting chapters everything seems perfect, but when I burn it the sound has static in it . the pictures are good and the video clips I insert but the audio stinks. this video helped out a bit, i have been having an issue with a video i am trying to export and after watching this tutorial am realizing its not my exporting pre sets. The original vid is 1080p after editing and then exporting the vid comes out all stretched. i have tried same as time line and custom. when i do same as time line it changes the pre sets to 720? but over all love all you do with these tutorials they help a lot!

If you want to save the project along with the files used in the project Save to package. template just saves the place markers on the timeline. I have a video on Project Bins and Templates. I will have videos on the Save as package in the future.

I like this product but I am having difficulty in saving and/or exporting the original color of my video. When exporting a project under the advanced option would choosing "Always re-encode entire movie" will save time because this process is very long.

I have Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate and am having this problem with exporting. My default formats are H.264/AVC, custom preset, Encoding H264, size 1920X1080, interlacing Top Field first, frames per second 29.97, and Peak bitrate 12. If I change anything at all, the file size jumps from say 300MB to 1.2G, and I can never get back to the smaller file size, no matter what I do. There seems to be no difference in video quality between the 300MB file and the 1.2G file, but a 1.2G file is just too large to upload to KZbin. I just spent about 6 hours editing a 12 minute video, and accidentally checked "Same as timeline" and my file went from 440MB to 1.18G. Any ideas?

Hey Maliek, is there any way to burn a Blu-ray .iso file in Pinnacle? I only have the option to make it a folder, but Amazon requires me to create an .iso to upload my content. I was able to render the DVD file into an .iso, but I don't see the option for Blu-ray.

Sir... good to the point video; but one thing I'd like to see explained... when I make a video I'm trying to keep the quality up and the file size down i.e. below 20MB so I can send as an email attachment or put on FB... however, I'm sure I could upload a bigger file to FB and link that but then I'd have to make 2 exports... since I am a musician and use the files for promoting services, I tend to hit the "medium" quality MP4 choice as I get a high quality audio with a medium quality video and if it is a 5 minute video or less, it will be under 20MB. Could you give a run down of say 3 to 5 categories of video from say Low to High... what you would choose for say a portable phone on up to a strong high impact video to impress folks? Thanks...

My source videos (that I want to join into a single video in Pinnacle Studio 21) contain 5.1 audio. No matter if I use the "same as timeline" option in order to keep my 5.1 audio channels while exporting, Pinnacle Studio 21 always converts it to stereo, since it only has 2 audio channel options: mono and stereo. Does anyone know how I can export my video keeping my 5.1 original audio channels?

what size computer do you need for Pinnacle? I have Pinnacle Studio 19 Ultimate. It will hesitate when adding titles and effects after having about an 1hours worth of movie in the authoring. It exports and plays the movie but always has some of the effects (pro transitions, 2d-3d effects on third and forth track layers) come out black in the movie. like it was too much to handle. Sound not copied through some frames. When my video changes from one framed to another I have to click on the next frame to hear the sound. Because I cannot click on the frame while I am exporting it, tgherefore the sound is not exported. Thanks for your help ALM

Thanks. Re-encode (video encoding to the file codec you selected) and Preprocessing (rendering the video prior to starting export) do not effect one another. Playback Optimization (quality of the image/video preview) is different than Optimization Threshold (full processing of effects during preview) and they do not effect one another.

I don't know much, but project bins are usually located somewhere in user / public / videos, or if you want to delete them from the pinnacle library I think you can right click to select individual files and choose delete. As for KZbin, they want mpeg4 videos, and 460, 720, 1080 are all acceptable. But pretty sure KZbin does it's own converting as you load the movie, however if it needs black sidebars KZbin will add them. Perhaps you can experiment uploading and call it's title a test. And delete it from KZbin if it doesn't come out right. Write down your selections in case it works right so you can use them again next time.

How do I set a thumbnail for my video after export? I have a title that I want the thumbnail to be shown. However it always selects somewhere in the first bit of the movie. How do I get the very beginning of the title to be the thumbnail for the movie? I can't find help on this anywhere. In previous versions, of Pinnacle, all you do is right click and select "Set Thumbnail" but don't see it in 21. Thanks. I am sure it is so simple but can't find it anywhere.

Go to the bit in the timeline where you want to make your thumbnail of; make a snapshot (that's that little camera icon in the toolbar next to the garbage can icon), snapshots are automatically saved in your Pinaccle folder, but you can also change where it's saved). The snapshot is a still of your video which you can use as thumbnail. That's how I always do it. Sometimes I do some editing on the snapshot also

You do not get to change the resolution. DVDs are standard definition. Blu Rays are HD.

Hi Malik. 21 is a work in progress. The problem I am having with exporting is a longer edit. Lets say 45mins plus. will not play in Windows Media Player for some reason. Im finding this the same with e4dited videos of a substantial length. Shorter videos as in your example is not a problem. You got any answer as to why a longer video edit simply wont play? Oh Bitrate is set at 6000 same as the preset was in Pin 20

I am thoroughly confused when trying to make a DVD with a navigation menu. Do I need to use the Legacy mode or not. I have the book by Jeff Naylor, but it only adds to the confusion. Must I always use the MY DVD program to make a DVD? I am OK with the editing...but output to DVD is frustrating for me. I find the Malik video confusing and therefore not very useful. How about a video for making disks with menus, and another video for no menus...two separate videos, each without references to the other? Vic

Hey Maliek I need help, Im trying to burn my movie to a AVCHD dvd and im getting a internal error. I exported my movie to a wmv file, then went back and added a disc menu preset then export To My DVD, then imported the axp file and tried to burn it. I also tried to upload the wmv to Pinnacle My DVD same thing. I am using DVD+R discs if that has anything to do it. I just upgraded from Pinnacle Studio 16 to Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate, big jump for me lol

Dear Maliek, I hope you are well. I am writing to ask whether it is possible to render a .mov file in either Pinnacle 19 or 21 at 60 fps? I've noticed that it's possible manually to set the frame rate for MPEG video formats but not for .mov formats, which is what I want. Instead, for .mov files, Pinnacle uses a default of 29.97 fps, which is not what I want. Any help would be appreciated.

This is not related to your video, but i couldnt find anything on youtube with a video on newblue fx errors for my specific issue. "nbfx" with a big thin red "x" appears in my project abruptly and i cant get it to go away. i've downloaded two different patches and i'm still having the same problem. i'm trying to avoid doing my project all over again. and even if i did, i'm nervous that it will do the same thing. please help

That is called a watermark. It usually shows up when you don't have full access to the effect. If you have PS Ultimate you should have access to the effect. I've looked everywhere in 21 ultimate but cannot find a way to make a custom output that will work in Instagram regular or in IGTV. Am I just missing a tab that will modify the output to custom sizes?

hi i the last thing i need help with is the low lights issue and fliming at night my camera is hd panasonic hdc-hs9 its a 2009, i looked at alot of video uploads and all the night shots are perfect compare to mine none of them have streaks or low light problems can you help me out pls thanks very much

Did you comment on any of those videos and ask them what camera settings they used to shoot in low light? The key to capturing good low light footage is the camera you use, the settings you choose, and the amount of light available when shooting. If you shoot in a location where there are no lights at all the footage will be extremely noisy. I am not familiar with the options available on the HDC-HS900 so I'm not sure I can help you. I shoot Canon and these are the settings I use when shooting in low light: ISO < 1600 Shutter 1/50 Aperture F/1.2 to F/5.6 Contrast 0 If these options are not available for your device you need to comment on the videos you watched and find out what settings they use.

sometimes it will be out of sync in the editor, then I pause the movie, then hit play and now it IS in sync....!
