Hi, I can't find any resource that talks about how to reduce IMAGE noise and grain. I shot a film with the wrong iso setting and I want to correct it. It's very grainy. I can't find a reduce noise function in the corrections editor. Thank you

I like to shoot video in D-LOG with a DJI Mavic Pro, which requires color grading in post. Can LUTs (Look Up Tables) be used in Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate to color grade D-LOG video?

Please help,(Pinnacle 21 ultimate) My video was shot under a bright red floodlight. After correcting the colors in the video of pinnacle 20 (correction, Enhance) the corrected color saved is completely different. I just cant save the corrected colors, the whole video turns green for some reason when I click on "OK" please help.

Under Image Correction CPU, I don't have all the options you have. I only have "White Balance" and "Tone" Missing "Fundamentals, Selective Brightness" and "Selective Saturation" What do I do to get those options?

hi I just got a new computer yesterday and it doesn't have windows movie maker on it .. I am trying to find editing software thats easy to use and not that expensive .. I am used to WMM and I dont have any experience with anything else.. I am currently using Pinnacle 19 standard, and am quite dissatisfied. The program itself works fine, but there are a couple problems when saving videos. I sometimes get pixelated glitches in my video for half a second, and the audio starts lagging behind the video at about fifteen minutes, and only gets worse from there. I would love to buy pinnacle 21 ultimate, but just want to make sure that none of the above glitches would be present with 21u. Are they a problem, in your experience? Thanks for the help

You can easily see in your comparative shots that it makes a difference. This could be really useful when incorporating video segments from a two different manufacture action cameras to keep the colors somewhat in alignment, especially sky color and saturation.

Jim M Color Match was initially released with PS21U. Then, since it was still a work in progress, the next patch they removed it. Then the next patch they added it back, but did nothing to fix the placeholder issues. Oh, it worked fine, but where the placeholders didn't show the video. Photos yes. So, they removed it again. Maybe, 21.5 we will finally have it back.

Maliek, I have been a subscriber for a couple years with you. I upgraded to the Pinnacle Studio 22 last month. My first couple of videos all came out nicely. Today, I load up titles, video and ender and ALL of them are missing "red" in the video. My color is completely off on every clip. This tutorial did not fix the problem. HELP!!! I'm really stuck. Btw, the clips in the library are fine. It's only when they are moved into the timeline. Thanks! I hope to hear from you.

Oh crap..... I figured it out. The new Pinnacle 22 has a 3D vs 2D button. I have no idea how it reset to 3D but, I changed it back to 2D and that straightened out the entire problem. Still working out the kinks in the new updates. I look forward to your tutorials.

Great tutorial again! I did a color correction but instead of setting it manual I ticked the levels option so everything is set automatically. When i do so with 1080 50P it works good, when I do it at a 4K 25P movie there is flickering in some frames after rendering. What can I do to avoid these flickering?

Are you updating your project setting and your project timeline to match the 25p frame rate? What are all of your steps?

Timeline setting is 4K 25P. To show the problem I uploaded a video with 4 times the same shot. 1. Raw as it comes from the camera, no flickering. 2. I manually set some levels, no flickering. 3. I ticked auto levels, only contrast. There is flickering. 4. I ticked auto levels, everything. There is flickering. As far as I can see the flickering is coming from frames that seem to be brighter than the previous and next frame. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5qynaemZq99nKM

Davinci is the Industry standard for color correction bit pricey and high learning curve. They use to call grading TIMING in the film days when they made the final answer print timing is keeping the cuts within the same scene looking exactly the same in Color and white blalance. I have Pinnacle 20 and it works great I am upgrading to 22 for the grading just watch his tutorials on another pc like a Laptop Pinnacle has come a long way since Corel took over. Follow this guys tutorials on short videos till you get the hang of it. I edited on all platforms meaning Moviola, Flatbed Steenbek film and I'm still learning PC versions have fun everyone and Pinnacle Ultimate 22 is well worth the price

Hi Maliek - Thanks for another good tutorial! I am going to pick-up the white balance card through your link. Quick question - when I go to "Image Correction CPU," I only see the white balance and tone controls (not the "fundamentals" and anything else.) I tried it with both multiple clips and a single clip selected. I just want to start with those basics. When going to other color effects, I don't see anything like it. Am I missing something? yeah... people latch on to the "catch phrases" without actually knowing what they mean. I think the key word in color correction is "correction". Correcting the color as clearly shown in your tutorial.

After applying a color correction to clips in my project, some of the clips (not all with color correction applied to them) start to be glitchy and lagging while playing, do you know anything about it and how to fix it ?

The more effects you apply to clips the more your PC needs to work to render the preview of the file. If you change your preview and render settings it may improve performance. Watch my render settings preview video.

So, I have a question... I'm all of my videos, the lighting always looks very yellowish in color.... Will doing this help fix it? Also, I've already edited the video so they're in clips... Can I make this type of edit on all of the clips at once or should I of done it BEFORE doing any cutting? If someone can answer I'd really appreciate it!

that is your white balance or COLOR temperature white balance on auto before you shoot on DSLR they have many settings indoor or outdoor cloudy and so on depends on your video camera though 5600K is outdoor 3200K is indoor lighting usually good luck

Thanks so much for this tutorial! I have a question...when I adjust the color on my clip it automatically changes it in the timeline. Is it a way to not have it do that? I play around with the color a lot and sometimes I want to keep the previous color corrections I have made and not keep the new ones I just tried out. In the older versions of pinnacle I had a choice whether to save new changes or not When I make several changes it's hard to determine just what I added and it would be great to just keep the previous changes I already made on the clip. thanks for all these useful tutorials! But this time I cant find the solution. At your video a right click on a clip with fx it opens options like copy/paste but in my case (I'm using Pinnacle19) it gives me 2 options only:edit and delete. Is this normal?

What version of Pinnacle 19 do you have? (Basic, Plus, Ultimate). What type of clip are you using? (Video, Image, Audio). Are you trying to copy an effect (pink line) or a correction (green line)?

It is a correction. Corrections can't be copied and pasted.

Hi Maliek In Pinnacle 21 Ultimate can it colour and regrade colour on using 4K, I tried another software programme “Cyberlink” but that never had the facility to colour grade 4K so I got a refund as I was led to believe it could do 4K. What are your thoughts on a software to be able to achieve this? At the moment I am using 19 Ultimate, will this do the job? Thanks Mailek Dave

If you can import the video and get it onto the timeline you can color correct the video. PS 19 should have the same color tools that I show in this video.
