He's literally producing 150-200 cents worth of potions each day for the 44 cents that he's costing you! Alas. It's so easy to fall into the trap of corporate downsizing. Farewell, young Dazzle. Managers are a bit pricy, but they passively generate tycoon points, and they have all skills so having 2-3 managers as "floaters" makes a HUGE difference in keeping production lines going. You should definitely try them out, you won't be disappointed. Also, you can give secondary skills to any employee, but employees only get perks when you upgrade their specialties. Over time, turning your greasers into floaters is actually worse than hiring the managers and let the perks stack up on everyone else.

If I had better hiring RNG I would absolutely hire specialists and keep them specialized for each role. That is my plan long term. In my test game, this all flowed much smoother. But I also wasn't offered 6 clerks in a row in my test game. I'll admit that I was probably too hasty in firing the manager, but I was worried about their salaries. In one other test game the game randomly offered me several employees who started at tier 2 with good traits, but their 40 cents/ day wages quickly bled me dry as I had not built up the baseline income to support that and properly utilize their extra skills

Are you aware the room sizes are adjustable? So you can drag and increase their size.
