I've really been enjoying your videos. It has helped me a great deal. Right now I'm on year 39. I have a population of 70, with an education rate of 81%. I was at 100 before I started taking in Nomads, which I've done three times so far. They have been very helpful so far, but I am afraid my luck will run out soon. My sheep herd is 45, Cattle 31, and chickens 75. Food is just under 50.000. I think I've had this town for about two weeks, and I play as often as my time allows. I have two forest hubs going strong and am starting my third. I really like the smaller crop fields as they are easier to manage. Thanks for the tips. I will continue to watch and play, and I'll update you as I go along.

Wow nice! Just to compare, I'm playing a game right now right around where you are as well. As a goal and challenge for this village, I also have taken in every nomad event and it turns out, it has been 3 groups so far as well. That took my education rate down to around 80% as well. Year 39, with 338 citizens with 227 of those being adult workers. Current food stocks is 41,000 and it had dipped as low as 35,000 when I took in that last group of nomads, but fortunately with the number of adult laborers that brought it, I used it to power through making about 12 more farms ... and yes they are beans! .. and hopefully that pulls me out of the food production slump.

According to the wiki mines can produce either 3500 iron or 7000 coal, or a combination of the 2 before getting depleted. Therefore isn't it more beneficial to always keep mines on coal to get double the resources? Yes, iron than becomes the main bottleneck for tools rather than coal but than you can balance that out with ground iron and trade, and of course increasing and lowering the amount of miners according to current iron stockpile.

you can balance out stone, iron, or coal with trading, so you don't have to keep losing villagers to mining accidents.

Still waiting to hear about the miracle of beans. I actually managed to acquire some bean seeds a couple of days ago, but haven't planted them yet just in case you have a clever trick for their use.

I figured you must have covered it by now, but I'm only up to this video at the moment, and I think your still waiting for the seed to be delivered. I was lucky I got mine early.

this might sound weird, but i wish the developer would add goats to the game, and have goats and cows both provide milk instead of cows just providing meat and hides so then we could make cheese... I'm sure there are a lot of animals that could be added, but there are SO MANY crops and not enough livestock types. For some reason I think rabbits would be good too. A lot of sweaters use rabbit "wool" and people eat rabbit pretty commonly.. whether that is something you'd have to hunt or could put in a small pasture, idk, but it could work either way. I'd LOVE them to add pigs. pork chops and hides.. mmm pork chops.. reminds me of my nectarine glazed pork chops.. but you could also use peaches... and you just said the word peaches right now lol.

Colonial Charter mod adds a lot of new buildings, crops, materials, and animals. No rabbits but they do add dairy cows and pigs for example. Also non-food crops like flax and hemp for cloth and rope.

you are right, there are still so many new crops and animals that could be added. and it's just the same as anything else if a mod makes an item that uses pork chops and nectarine fruit to create nectarine-glazed pork chops, so it's all doable. however, there are a few things that need to be done for it to really make a difference in the game (in other words, be a good useful mod to the game). otherwise, at a minimum, it is just another vegetable/grain/fruit or meat source...and if that's all it does, then is there really a need for an extra new thing that does the same old thing?

how come's your game runs a lot faster than mine? could anybody help me to get mine running at this speed? and good job on this series, enjoying it very much!
