Love the organization and the only thing I would change is a different container for the cat food that slides under the shelf all the way, but that's just me :)

My thought too. Plus cat food goes down in quality like all other food. My cats won't eat it if it has been in a bin like this for a few weeks and this is so much food that it'll be in there for months before it's out. Unless you have 15 cats or so. Just like I don't like to eat the same thing every day the whole day, my cats like a change too. So I do have two bins but smaller, which will fit 1.5kg each. Chicken in the morning and fish in the evening ;-)

looks so great! love it! the only thing that I don't love is the cat food storage bin. it looks too big, I wish it could tuck away under that last shelf and not obstruct the walk way and bottom shelf. but overall the transformation is amazing!

If you're going to take everything out the packaging and put them in jars why not find a local zero waste store and do away with the waste all together. The pasta oil nuts and seeds etc are easy replacements.

This pantry is beautiful but honestly, the amount of plastic surprised me and my partner. Most of what Kristen showed to store away is usually sold in paper or cardboard packing in Germany.

@@brndn-t1r while i agree its not realistic for most people, if you can find one thats local you should. For example my local publix has nuts and seeds that i can fill up personal jars with. other than that theres not a whole lot. its not an easy replacement for most but for me that lil bit was!

Before you go grocery shopping, shop your pantry and fridge. Meal planning helps here, you can find recipes you wanna try (or already like) using stuff in your pantry. (You can even have an inventory of your food if that's something you can keep up. I do this every time I use an item from my pantry.) There are even apps that help with this like Supercook. Having a visual organization style helps too.

What a beautiful pantry. I just must say that in my country (Czech Republic) we just dont have so many snacks to stack :D I have never seen family here to have so many snacks, soda cans, etc. Im always so surpise.

I love door shoe organizers too - I use a mesh one for the back of the bathroom door. Perfect for nail polish, band-aids, brushes, lint roller, etc.

Placing oils, especially extra virgin olive oil into a clear class can cause it to turn rancid quicker, aka reduces its shelf life

I love pantry make overs...but that wine rack is :(...great for the fridge, but a really nice wooden one (bamboo?) would have looked so retro cool. Also the too tall catfood bin is making my eye twitch :D

Nice organization, but this type of pantry will not work for families with children - too much slippery glass and oversized jars that clumsy kids will not hold properly. I'm wondering how practical are OXO bins, do they stain or retain smell a few years down the line. Anyone?

I use the OXO containers for flour and different kinds of sugar, plus pastas and sometimes potato chips, cookies, etc. I like them a lot! I’ve never had them stain or retain any smells. I like that you can find them in stores or online, year after year, so when I want more, I don’t have to worry that I won’t find them!

I agree. That pantry is only good for families with no children or children that are much older. Not good for little kids. You definitely need plastic containers instead of glass.

Unbelievable work Kristen I’m in love with all your videos. One important tip I saw the other day is that all of the pet’s food comes in a bag that is designed to keep the nutrients and protect the food so taking the food out of the bag is not very good. But we can just put the bag in a non transparent container and get the same result without altering our fluffy one’s food❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰

It looks good but it's not very realistic. Take even oil out of containers it's a lot of work and you'll need some labels if you use olive oil, avocado oil, etc.
