I mean candy melts
@issabella87759 жыл бұрын
Yeah that might help! Never thought of that!
@wyverntail9 жыл бұрын
candy melts and chocolate are the same thing. to make it "runnier" or thinner, you just add shortening to it. also, putting them in the freezer for too long will crack your chocolate coating
@anoushkakumar36859 жыл бұрын
Shayna Ockrant she meant putting the nutter butter in the freezer BEFORE adding chocolate so that it wonnt break apart when dipping in the candy melts
@andrewa48899 жыл бұрын
Shayna Ockrant Candy melts are not chocolate. Candy melts don't even contain cocoa. For it to be real chocolate it must contain cocoa butter as the main ingredient.

@musicislifefershur9 жыл бұрын
Try melting your chocolate a tad further to give it a more liquid consistency, and freeze the cookies on the popsicle sticks beforehand. Take them out just as you're ready to dip. This should help with the application and prevent the cookie from melting or becoming soft (:
@musicislifefershur9 жыл бұрын
Also! You can dip the side of the wings in the candy melt to help adhere to the side of the cookie.
@ToxicSilverSapphire9 жыл бұрын
well.. that may not work. true, if you don't give the chocolate enough its going to be too stiff. but i have also heard that if you give the chocolate TOO long it'll start burning and get harder and stiffer again. =/ i think its one of those things where you have to get it out at just the right moment. kind of impossible to figure out just when that moment is though. xD another tip would be to add shortening or something like that.. mind you, we dont actually have shortening easily available in my country so im not entirely sure what it is and may be confusing it with something else. >.
@loganrichardson88729 жыл бұрын
Add Crisco or some type of vegetable shortening when you melt the candy melts. It melts smoother and hardens better. ☺️

Freezing the cookies after you have put the sticks in will help a lot. Also adding about a table spoon of vegetable shortening to the melted candy melts will thin them down for easier dipping.

The yellow chocolate is white chocolate and when melting it, especially in the microwave, it never melts just as right as milk chocolate, I would suggest using a double boiler and melt it that way, and also add in a bit of shortening or butter. :) It will melt much smoother and you should be able to just dip the stick into it. ^-^ But make sure to do it really fast, then place it down quick. :)
@FairyButterfly169 жыл бұрын
Hey bunny! Huge huge fan! Small tip: when you melt the candy melts do it with a tablespoon or so of shortening (I prefer Crisco) it makes it a lot smoother and not quite as thick. And before you dip poor into a deep but not very big around dish or cup. Then you can dip straight in and out with less trouble. :) hope this helps
@DrTed10009 жыл бұрын
just made HUGE batch of these things! the trick to getting the chocolate all the way around is to do it in steps, like icing the front, let it set, ice the back, let it set, and then ice the sides. they're pretty fun once you get the hang of it!

@Strar759 жыл бұрын

@xadelitax9 жыл бұрын
So iv worked with candy melts and its def more difficult than chocolate!!!! Two recommendations: One: Use a glass bowl that is small enough to create a puddle for the whole thing to be dunked in! If the bowl is too big, the candy puddle is too shallow and I think that's why your cookies fell off. They were probably moving around too much by hitting the sides of the glass. Two: use candy melt thinner or Crisco! If you think the candy or chocolate using one of those, it makes dipping soooo much easier!!!! Love you so much bunny! Still cute and still super yummy!

I made these and they turned out great! You need to split the nutter butters and dip the Popsicle stick in the candy melts as a glue base. I also spread a little extra in the middle so it would be more sturdy. I dipped the whole thing in the melt to get both sides and it turned out just fine... I used a little of Bunny's technique with another Popsicle stick to spread it and even out the look on the surface.

I read that you insert the wood stick about half way up the cookie and separate the cookie then add a small amount of melted candy and put cookie back together and let candy harden. It keeps the halves from coming apart when you dip them. It's also helpful to put what you are going to dip in the freezer for a while.

Placing the cookies with the sticks in the freezer for 10 minutes it keeps them together and makes it easy to dunk in the chocolate. Adding vegetable shortening and melting the chocolate in a tall glass makes it easy to dunk the cookies and have them covered completely. Placing them back in the fridge to cool and harden before u add the decorations works better and it makes it also easy to put the wings on them.

you could heat up the candy pieces for the wings for 1 to 5 seconds or until its just a little soft so you can mold it into the shape that can fit into the cookie then cool it so it can set

if you add like a tablespoon of crisco it will thin the candy melts and if you use a cup not a bowl it will cover better!
